Hmmm Pilates tone every part of your body in general.. maybe do some flys with light weights while seated or lats pull-down or assisted chinups in the gym?

Welcome (: Do you use video/vcd/dvd to do Pilates? I am doing Denise Austin's 'Pilates for every body' that my uncle sent over from the States (:

I' just don't look @ her and think 'wow shes so fit ' ya know? But I do use some of her dvds as well and i do her daily morning workouts that we have on telivison on over here, plus some other workouts. I'm in love with working out. Some of her workouts make me feel the burn others don't..okay i'm shutting up now =)

I've got some good ones for upper back, but that's about it...

1. Stick your arms straight out in front of you and put your hands into fists. Tense up your whole arm, squeezing the fist, and try to contract that area right between your shoulder blades. Relax, and repeat.

2. From #1, spread your arms out to the side while doing the contraction (remember! area between your shoulder blades!), and relax while you bring your arms back to the starting position. Repeat.

3. Bring your arms down, still straight with fists, and this time on the contraction (shoulderblades!) bring your arms out to the side bringing them parallel with the floor. Relax as you lower them again. Repeat.

4. Sit on a chair and bend over so your chest rests against your knees. Arms are straight, touching the floor, with palms facing away from you. Keeping your arms this way, raise them till they're parallel with the floor, and lower (no contractions necessary this time). Repeat however many times you like. The part to remember here is to keep ( ... )

The above stated exercises are all good ones. :)

The one we practice at jazzercise is called a back row... you stand with your legs about shoulder width apart .. kind of tilt forward a little (not a lot) and with your arms straight down (we hold weights in each hand) you bring both elbows behind you and SQUEEZE the shoulder blades together. Squeeze them as if you have ice cold water dripping down the middle of your back. This really works... continue to do this several times and you will feel it. But remember it's not so much a bend of the elbow.. the arm kind of stays straight. That's b/c it's all in the shoulder blades you just row them from the front to the back.. squeezing :)

I hope that's a good description :S

I think I'm gonna go work out right now lol
