If you are involved with someone there is already a certain amount of dependence on them because you have feelings for them or rely on them in some way. So by definition, you can't truely be independent while involved with someone romantically.
What is your opinion?

I am probably the most dependent on her so person I know. However, I know I am capable of being independent so I'm okay with that.

I don't think there's anything wrong with relying on those that you care about. Afterall, isn't that one of the reasons that you care about them?

I think this comes down to the definition of dependence. Having feelings is different than relying on someone. And there are certainly degrees of reliance on one's self and on others. If we all relied on only ourselves, I wouldn't be typing this to you from Texas, we probably wouldn't have language, and if you wanted to take it to the extreme, we wouldn't be able to reproduce ( ... )
