Beautiful! I love the warm colours chosen for Thranduil poster. I think he's associated more with cold blues. Strangely enough, I like him in the movies (and yes the fact that he looks exceptionally good partly influences it). Although, I've never liked him in the books. The actor and the scriptwriters have given him a lot of depth and made him interesting.
I loved what they did with Thranduil and Bard, giving them some more backstory and depth, it brought them to life-which hardly happened in the book and is, as you say, so interesting to see in the movies!!:)
And the king of Mirkwood was always associated with warm colors in my mind, for some reason!O.o
In the books a few thousand pages long, the Bard got a whole grand background story as long as two sentences, which was way too little for a character who killed a dragon which a powerful dwarf army couldn't oppose. D: (Then again, Glorfindel also slayed a Balrog in one sentence.)
I've always associated Thranduil with green because he loved emeralds and he lived in Greenwood. I've expected he'd have green eyes. I love that his eyes have this fantastic shine in the movies, but I don't remember a book reference where his eyes were like that. If anything, it's Elrond who had the light of the stars in his eyes, which is a part of his name.
Very pretty work. I especially love your magical touch with these designs. There aren't so many people active on LJ making pretty Tolkien themed things now, so I'm following and making sure I comment to those who are still creative.
