Ramble On

I've been playing Tomb Raider nonstop for the past two days. It is a stupid, wonderful game. It features some lovely improbable story about the megamyth of Arthur, King of the Britons. The highlight of the game so far, in my opinion, has been driving a forklift.
That's right: a forklift.

Which game is that? I'm assuming you already knew my childhood dream was to be Lara Croft... I was just recently thinking of buying Anniversary since Legend is allegedly bad and she looks gross and way too revamped in it. I stopped playing after TR3, in which I remember having to evade an evil runaway electricity generator, which looked like an early prototype of a robovacuum. I see they haven't changed some amazing aspects of the game. I love how boxy and glitchy and polygonial the first games were...

So I might be schooling permanently in Seattle in the fall? Stay tuned. UW unfortunately has no related majors for Sexy and Nerdy Badassery.

"Legend", in fact. It might be rubbish compared to the other Lara Croft games (and I did not, in fact, know that that was your childhood dream. I do commend you for it, however), but this is the first one I've ever played.
I also got it from Hollywood video for the whopping total of $3.99 ($4.03 with tax), so I wouldn't mind sending it your way once I'm done with it. That way you can save money and experience the strange glory of being the sexiest forklift operator in video game history.
And at the rate I've been bombing through the game, I could probably send it your way before I go to China in February.

Ooooh! That'd be awesome. I mean, I'm still not sure where I'm gonna go (it probably isn't Macalester: The Sequel), but if we both end up going to the UW...!!!
We could room together, for a start.

One of the people I've met playing DnD said his daughters would love me and my "Lara Croft hair".

I kind of felt like a rockstar.

There's also a weeny island in the Pacific that Korea and Japan have been arguing over basically since 1945. I guess that doesn't exactly have the history of some of the other places, but...

Um, can I call you tomorrow (the 4th) after I land in Evanston?

But your hair is longer. And more awesome!

I feel like I learned about that island. Karin Islands?

I pick the Moon.

I have to get back into Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles. I've been learning a lot of stuff from them about the various factions in England (or the kingdoms which would become England) in the ninth century...

I've only read the first one so far but really enjoyed it - my review's here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/5874798

There's a list of the whole series on Cornwell's website; I'd tell you the titles but I can't remember the reading order...
