Made a note in my diary on the way here. Simply says: "bugger".

There's something about the Blackadder episode - the WWI season finale where they go over the top - that's more poignant than many war memorials I've seen. I suppose it's the humour.

Mmmm, it really nails the ridiculousness/pointlessness of war. I cried. I didn't ever expect to be bawling over a Blackadder episode!

When I was in Ireland TG4 showed a truly ridiculous number of Top N Moments Of Whatever type shows, and one of them was Most Ridiculous Tearjerker Moments, and it was full of celebrities I was only marginally familiar with talking about all the bits of movies and TV and such that they were really offended that they'd cried at. And the last episode of Blackadder was well up toward the top of the list. It's so surprising, that ending; even though you know they always all die at the end of a season, you keep expecting them to be okay.
