Labyrinth is one of those fandoms that never really dies, I don't think. Kind of like Buffy fandom has never completely croaked. Or HP, though that one totally should, I think. They slow down in their old age, but continue to chug along. I think it's interesting the way that some fandoms do that and others do not.

Yeah, I know. I wrote in it I think in 2003 or 2004 and it was still pretty active in places, but that movie came out the year I was born. That's some staying power.

It's a classic/cult classic and they do have awesome staying power. Look at Rocky Horror and Velvet Goldmine, those two are also alive and well. Makes me kinda wonder about The Neverending Story and if it has a fandom that's still kicking. They're things that appeal to all of the new generations that come along and find them and so, yeah, they continually get new fans.
Someone should actually write a paper on that; I'd totally read it.

I know, I wrote in Velvet Goldmine a little, but never noticed anything about Rocky Horror. I think there is a fandom still for the Neverending Story but it's movie fandom, not book fandom, and it's very, very tiny and not that interesting. Mostly you see it on ff.net.
It's an interesting topic. Someone may have, they're always writing papers and stuff in fandom. Usually for a class I think, but there could be one out there.
