Lip Dip - formula?

I placed a UK order recently to restock some essentials and decided to throw in a Lip Dip lip scrub. I opened it up and took a wiff - it smells soooo delicious - but then I noticed the texture is different. It's creamier than the other lip scrubs. I used some on my lips and was disappointed that it didn't do much "scrubbing" since the sugar is much ( Read more... )

Hm. I feel as if the other lip scrubs hardly exfoliate my lips (I have Mint Julips) as it is, so if this is the case with all Lip Dips, I don't think I'll be purchasing it :[

I'm sure it's a matter of YMMV, but definitely a disappointment for me. Mint Julips and the rest did an OK job exfoliating my lips, but could have been better... I guess I just like exfoliation that feels punishing, lol.

The formula for Lip Dip is actually a bit different from the other lip scrubs - in that it uses White Icing sugar (sherbet powder) instead of Castor sugar. The grit is much finer. Supposedly they've taken into consideration that dry lips might be a bit more sensitive to exfoliation in the winter.

Hope this helps :D

Oh cool, thanks or the info! I'm not a huge fan of the finer sugar but hopefully it works out for those with more sensitive lips.

i had the same reaction of confusion..
but it does work! just wet your lips and then apply. works a little less abrasively than the established lip scrubs, but still works!

It's a shame because I adore the smell. I wonder if anyone's come up with any alternative uses for it?

It's a little harder to use than the others IMO, but what I do is wet my lips, then kind of spread a tiny bit of Lip Dip over them before I start scrubbing. I find it works really well that way :)
