Face moisturizer as hand lotion?

Have any of you used your usual face cream on your hands? The one I have is Imperialis, and even though I like it, it's a bit heavy on my face(combo skin, more dry than oily) so I have been using it as a hand cream, and it seems to work great ( Read more... )

i think a lot of people use facial moisturizer on their hands. it's not really uncommon at all and it's even suggested a lot of the time to keep your hands looking young and pretty.

i do not have eczema, but dream cream smells a little bit like freshly cut grass to me. i don't find it very strong though and certainly not unpleasant. it doesn't seem to linger for very long either. i like dream cream a lot but again i do not have eczema.

I've never used Lush moisturizers (TBH, I don't think I ever will), and I also wouldn't turn first to face cream to use on my hands, although if nothing else were around, well, why not? But I have oily skin, so my moisturizer won't exactly be heavy duty. If I had dry skin though, hell yeah I'd use face cream on my hands.

I have eczema, mainly on my hands. I've had it since I was a few months old and Dream Cream is the BEST thing I have ever used. It works better than my prescription medication! It was the first thing I ever bought at Lush. I got home and was like "Why on earth did I pay $22 for LOTION??". But I tried it and it's worth every penny!

It smells kinda herbally, but it's not that strong. It doesn't linger like some of the other hand lotions. I like the smell...it kinda grows on you.

And I've used face lotion on my hands too. I had a few samples when I was trying out face moisturizers that didn't work on my face, so I used them up on my hands.

I am totally Eczema-Girl! It's been pretty severe my whole life (I used prescription cortisone cream daily since I was a child), and no amount of emu oil or anything else over-the-counter had ever worked for me until I was 27. I weaned myself off the cortisone using Dream Cream a few years ago; I would use my cortisone in the morning and Dream Cream at night at first, and then I gradually started using cortisone only every other day and so on, until eventually, I just stopped renewing my prescription and used Dream Cream by itself. Now I'm cortisone-free! Yay!

Dream Cream is hands-down the best thing for eczema I've ever used. Now, when the weather changes and I feel like I'm getting a flare-up, I use Dreamwash in the shower and Dream Cream as my body lotion - paying extra attention to the affected areas. It works like a charm!

I'm like the only person that doesn't like Dream Cream or Dreamwash for eczema. It might be because my eczema is mainly behind my knees and inside elbows and Dream Cream does not absorb well there. So my skin thinks it's too moist and freaks out. I've actually been using stuff with sea salt instead. It stings at first, but so much less itchy later on. I don't know if this is normal, though.
