I have soaps left from the after Christmas sale a couple of years ago and they seem fine. I put mine in sandwich bags and make sure to get the air out, so I definitely think vacuum packing would work and storing in a cool place, like maybe a dark closet. I don't think freezing would be a good idea though. (But it seems to have to worked for some, so maybe try cutting a small piece and storing it in freezer and see what happens!)

My SnowCake from two years ago doesn't really have the nice scent anymore (is still totally awesome to wash with though), but the block from last year still smells okay! I think it depends a lot on the soap. I bought Bohemian and left it in the paper and all of the oils leaked out, so that's the initial reason I started storing in sandwich bags. Some soaps are totally fine in the paper, but others definitely tend to be more leaky. I actually have soaps older than two years old and they seem fine! Total soap hoarder here!

It's hard to not be a soap hoarder with a sale like that. I got And I'm in love with the snowcake soap, so I really want to make sure the extras I got of that last.

I think I am going to try the freezing a sample and compare it to the soap that wasn't frozen just to compare.

I also store my Lush soaps and bath items by scent family, so the scents don't mingle and become that generic Lush shop smell... like citrus items together, sweet/candyish items, floral, etc. You get the picture. Some soaps/bath bombs are SO strong that they overwhelm other items around them, so they're best kept by themselves. For example, I would not store Snowcake next to Sexy Peel.

Good idea! I keep all my bath bombs in a container together in my bathroom, but they're still in their separate bags. I'm going to start doing that.
