Flying fox

Err, what is flying fox supposed to smell like? I just got a small bottle and it smelled strongly, and I mean STRONGLY, of burning plastic. I can't smell anything else from it. Is this normal or did I get a bad batch?

shower gel: flying fox

It's supposed to smell like Jasmine. I've never bought it, but the guy at Lush let me smell it because I liked Godiva so much. It has a lovely smell, you probably got a bad batch.

Although if you don't like jasmine, like me, it does indeed smell really gross, and also kind of sickly sweet on top of that. I don't get burning plastic though.

flying fox is a very polarizing scent lol. if you love it, you love it a lot, and if you hate it you gag at the mere mention of it. people also smell a lot of different things in it.

i'd take it to the shower, just once, to see how it smells when you actually use it, sometimes the scent from the bottle isn't the same scent when you lather it up and etc. it's supposed to smell like jasmine and honey, which mine does... it smells almost exactly like my jasmine green tea, haha.

also, question for anyone else reading this - is FF supposed to separate? mine does. and it smells fine and lathers okay.

My Flying Fox and my Olive Branch both separate. They're months from their expiry dates and work just fine. I'd say there's nothing to worry about :)

Mmm, jasmine and honey! It's one of my favorite Lush scents!

It should smell anywhere between heavily floral and sickly sweet with a hint of floral, according to my nose. You should be picking up notes of honey and jasmine. If you've ever smelled a Sex Bomb, that's fairly close to what it smells like if all you can smell is the floral notes, although not as musky. However, burning plastic is definitely not something I've ever gotten from it, even during the times of month I'm not that fond of it. I'd exchange it for one from a different batch, if you can do that. You still may not like how it actually smells, but there's no point in trying to like something so obviously off.

Now, if a different batch smells like burning plastic to you, then I'd say it's a scent that just disagrees with your nose. Like, everyone raves about (the now discontinued) Sonic Death Monkey, but every time I smelled it I thought it smelled like burnt coffee. So don't sweat too much if that happens.
