I'd stop using the Imperialis and not add a different moisturizer until your skin has cleared up. If it's hot where you live, you may not need one till the weather cools off. Adding oil to your skin in hot, sweaty weather can clog the heck out of your pores.

It's just started to get hot and sweaty here in New England, so it's very possible that I should desist on the moisturizer until fall. I may have had a case of trying to fix what wasn't really broken.

1. Your icon? Is awesome.

2. Imperialis is probably the culprit! I agree with kightp. Keep it until the weather gets cooler and use it when your skin feels drier.

1. Thanks! :)

2. That's what I was worried about. I guess I should just stop moisturizing for now, Angels is a pretty moisturizing cleanser as it is.

There's no need for to tag this post with Imperialis as you're not asking a specific question about it, unless I missed that you did.

I was asking if it might be the culprit in my skin issues, but it's cool if you don't think it needs it - I just saw there wasn't an Imperialis tag and thought it might be helpful. :)

I have the exact same skin type, and I use ultrabland + breath of fresh air + gorgeous, with ocean salt once a week(from the UK, the US one is a bit irritating).
I also tried the AOBS and Imperialis regime when I started with Lush, and had the same results.

You're my skin twin!

Aha! That is VERY helpful, thank you! I'm going to go to my Lush store today to return the Imperialis, and maybe I'll ask for a Gorgeous sample at the same time. Sounds like it's worth a shot, and it's really not that expensive if you get it from the UK.

I agree, it's probably the Imperialis. It may be too heavy or greasy for your complexion. If it's too heavy, then Gorgeous would be a great first step - it's Lush's lightest moisturizer, and if that doesn't work, then that will probably eliminate heaviness as the problem. Give that a shot (you should be able to ask for a sample so as to avoid the $85 price tag for now), and if that doesn't work then we'll figure something else out. :)

Worth a shot - thanks! You are always so helpful in skincare posts. I'm not opposed to giving Gorgeous a chance, as it isn't prohibitively expensive if you get it from overseas. So when I return my Imperialis today, I'll ask for a sample.

Marginally related: I tore my bag apart last night looking for the receipt, and of course I have receipts for grocery shopping trips dating back to March, but do I have the Lush receipt from two weeks ago? 'Course not. :/ Do you think I'd still be able to get at least store credit if I bring the moisturizer back? If not I'll just try my hand at lush_swaps.
