i've had to stop using the vanishing cream moisturizer as the heavy scent was making my sensitive skin flare up. so, my question is: is celestial good for combination skin that's prone to irritation and breakouts? i had a sample of it that i'd been using on the hypersensitive skin around my lips, and it's worked wonderfully, but i worry it'll be ( Read more... )

I use celestial on my sensitive, combination skin and quite like it. I use a very small amount (a pot lasts me almost a year) and put it on while my face is still damp to lock in the moisture. It will take some time to soak in but I've never had a "greasy" feeling from it.

Are you able to get a sample of Celestial first? It's fine for the sensitivity (unless you're allergic to vanilla or almond milk), but it can be a little heavy on the oilier parts of combo skin. If you find Celestial too heavy, you can try Cosmetic Lad! It's just as gentle (lavender and honey water) and a little bit lighter.

i had a sample that i mainly used on the skin around my lips only. i did use it all over my face on occasion but not regularly enough to tell if it had any positive or adverse effects on my skin, haha.

but i caved in and bought the whole tub just now after asking the SA if she'd recommend it for my skin. hopefully it works! at the very least it shouldn't irritate me the way vanishing cream did. :)

thanks for the advice though, i might ask for a sample of cosmetic lad next time i'm at lush to see how i like it compared to celestial.
