I would suggest testing it on a patch of skin on your face. I actually test things on my neck first because that's my most sensitive area other than my face. If it's okay for my neck, then I'm okay to use it in my face

Stupid question, did you mix it well first? The course salt can be irritating to the skin if it's not mixed well.

At any rate, if you find that Ocean Salt is too abrasive for your face, I'd suggest sticking to less sensitive skin.
