Sorry, no specific experience, but this is definitely a "see another vet" issue!

I think so, too, especially when all of the sites say that it is almost impossible to make a definitive diagnosis of FIP without a necropsy!

I whole-heartedly agree. Even if the 2nd opinion agrees with the first, Daisy and Uncle Fester (*snickers at the names*) will know they did everything they could, rather than having that nagging doubt.Plus...plenty of doctors can be wrong, so why not vets?

I like this little kitty...she's feisty!

I know nothing about the disease. However, I do know that there are a lot of mobile vets out there who will make housecalls so, idk, maybe they'd be willing to come to the house instead of having the kitten go in there if it's that bad?

Also - have you talked to the shelter to let them know? Something that bad might have spread to other kittens and they might have advice.

Oh - good idea to call the shelter. I'll ask if she's done that, and ask her about mobile vets.
Thank you!

I'm afraid I don't know anything about FIP. But definitely get a second opinion concerning treatment. I don't understand how draining the fluid would be a risk to other kittens.

I guess the vet was concerned about transmission. It's a coronavirus and contagious.
