But what have you got, Lureen? Read this one several times, each time feeling sorrier for Lureen. I love drabbles--not that that should be a surprise to anybody.
BTW, I've decided that Lureen is a nickname--short for Lucille Darlene, making her also an L.D. Newsome. Named after her Daddy, Lucien Darryl. Poor guy, no wonder he uses his initials!

out of character: Lureen makes me achingly sad for so many reasons. In the "better to have loves and lost" axiom handed us by Willy, Lureen is the "than never to have loved at all." She's a workaholic. But she is also smart and driven and sassy; she has a lot of good qualities that people often overlook. But yes, I have been told I have the power to muster sympathy for Lureen out of even those who hate her.
I have L.D. standing for Loren David. I actually have an aunt Lorene, and her name was from her mom, Lois, and her aunt, Irene.
