Luke and Reid had been dating for a few weeks now.
They were getting dressed for dinner when Reid started to think about how he wanted tonight to be the first night with Luke.
Luke was thinking about how he was ready for tonight to be the night as well, but at the same time, he was nervous about it. He hadn’t been with anyone other than Noah, and he was worried that with Reid’s experience, he might let Reid down a little.
Reid drove to pick Luke up at his place. Reid got to the door, and Lily answered. Standing there on the porch, Reid kind of had a flash of the past, of being a high school kid again and having to pick up his date, and having to deal with his date’s family’s feelings. Lily, because she was trying to be supportive of Luke’s decision to date Reid, invited him right in.
Luke came through the door and Reid eyes widened in excitement to see Luke all dressed up. Lily mentioned to Luke that she was going to be out for the night, and most likely would not be back till way late, having to deal with her new company and all, and the kids were all hanging out with Holden and Molly at the farm.
Luke told her thanks, and Reid let Luke walk in front of him. Lily closed the door and was happy that Luke found a guy he truly loved. She finally felt like she could let go and accept the fact Noah was just a friend now to Luke.
Once they got into Reid’s car, Reid asked Luke, “Where do you want to go?” It was Luke’s turn to pick where they had dinner and what they would get to do afterwards.
Luke told Reid, “Lakeview?”
Reid turned his head and smiled. Luke asked, “What? You don’t want to go there?”
Reid turned and said, “Well, no...we have eaten there three times already!”
Luke replied, “Oh,” and blushed.
Reid went on quickly, “No, it’s fine, really! I can have my usual!” with a big smile on his face.
Reid dove off to the Lakeview. Once they got there, it was kinda full and the waiter told them it would be about a half hour before a table would be ready. They looked at each other and thought about what they should do.
Reid pulled Luke aside and told him, “I can make dinner if you want back at your place.”
Luke, kinda flushed and looking down, told Reid, “Yeah, I know...just tonight was going to be important!”
“Important?” Reid questioned back. “Do you mean...that kind of important?”
Luke looked up, all wide-eyed. He flushed again.
“What did you mean?” Reid asked. Luke got all embarrassed and even walked out on Reid.
Reid turned around, following him, and told the waiter, “Not tonight!” and then ran after Luke. Luke waited at the car for Reid to catch up.
Reid asked Luke, “What’s wrong?”
Luke had his arms folded and Reid was starting to worry about Luke, because, to him, Luke was acting way off. “Baby...what’s wrong?!”
Luke looked at Reid and told him that he “wanted it to be special.” Reid looked confused.
“What, do you want dinner to be special or something else?”
Luke looked away from Reid once he heard “something else” and Reid shifted and knew exactly what was on Luke’s mind. Luke was, in Reid’s mind, ready for them to make love for the first time after dinner, and the fact Luke picked Lakeview meant no family or interruptions. Reid held Luke close to him and Luke felt a little childish for feeling this way.
“I can’t believe I am acting like a kid,” Luke told Reid with a slight pout. Reid pulled Luke away from him and kissed him hard.
They ended up back at Lily’s place.
They knew once they made love for the first time, they would be connected, not just as boyfriends, but connected on a more emotional level.
Reid locked the door, and Reid and Luke started to kiss again. Reid pushed Luke back to the bed, which made Luke hit the bed with his lower legs. Reid broke from kissing Luke and asked, “Are you sure?”
Luke looked at him and - not knowing why he even said this out loud - answered, “Yes...but I am not good at it.”
Reid started to smile and told him, “Not possible.”
Reid started to unbutton Luke’s shirt, pushing it and Luke’s jacket off at the same time. Luke unbuttoned Reid’s shirt and pushed it off with his jacket as well. Luke sat on the bed and pulled Reid down with him. They made love together, which in turn made them intertwined forever!
