Nov 21, 2014 14:10

How is Vermont in December? If you already know because you live there or want to find out, you can go see Eric in a staged reading of the play "Will" by Jon Glascoe. It's a partly fictionalized account of Shakespeare's life just before he wrote Hamlet. Eric will play/read William Shakespeare ( Read more... )

Ah, but you're from the instant gratification generation. ;) I can go either way, but since the whole thing is over 3 hours long, I think I'd actually like it better if it were shorter bits.
Plus, a couple people have been commenting on the community being quiet - which is true, but there are only so many things you can do to change this when canon is long past and fresh blood is rare to come by when there are no re-airings or DVDs. The fic discussion is one attempt at it. So I thought if anything, maybe this might get people to comment and talk to each other for a bit too.

Let's hope so. Van sure has been busy lately.

Umm sorry and oh so it's a play or something Im guessing??

Yeh I agree it is hard to get people's interest in something that has been over for what 5 years now I mean the fic updates are great but people have School/Families etc and it's hard to find time to sit down and read a fic.

Yeh the fic discussion is a good idea I personally myself don't really look that deeply into fanfic's but that's just me

Nods Head a busy and happy boy so it seems :)

But, but...I wanted this to be ~mysterious. Okay, it's an audiobook.

Yeah, it's the natural flow of things. People have found their niches and don't necessarily want to shout at the world-at-large anymore (plus LJ has been bleeding users), it's sort of impossible to stay as obsessed with the pairing as back in 2010 because it's a one-sided love affair what with canon not reciprocating for 4+ years and so on. But we can still have fun with it. :)

Okay, if it's what I think it is, then how the eff did you get your hands on it?! I spent the better part of the night/morning searching for it (while ignoring a fic, which I've become a master at) and the closest I came was a library in Georgia (or Alabama, I can't remember which).

My feelings are...that I don't know what to feel. I'm not particularly a fan, but it's ESS, and life is so damn boring I'll take any thrill I can get. We're at your mercy so how ever you want to dole it out is fine by me. ;)

Good guess. :) I...purchased it. The library route was an option, but since (as you've figured out) there are only 5 or so copies left in all of America's libraries and exactly none in other parts of the world, it was tricky. Another LuRian is still waiting for an interlibrary loan to come through, I believe. Funnily enough, they've rereleased the book that went along with the audio, but not the CDs...

Hmm. Please give indications as to whether or not bribing you into completing that fic might work. ;)

It's an audiobook of a very, very popular French book. Well, the abridged version because otherwise it would probably be 300 hours long instead of 3. ;)

If it turns out you don't have an interest in listening to it: I'll create a specific tag for it, so anyone who doesn't want to see the posts can just easily block them from showing up on their flist.
