Summary: Grizzly ghouls from every tomb are closing in to seal your doom...

Author's Note: So, once this idea struck, I couldn't get it out of my head. It's probably horrible, and crack, but I kind of love it.

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'alls neighborhood
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller

Reid chuckled as Luke jumped for the third time in the last twenty minutes. Luke elbowed him hard in the ribs, but that just made him laugh harder. Some of the other theater patrons made “shhh” noises behind them, but Reid ignored them. The girl on the movie screen in front of them was currently being chopped into fish sticks, and Reid rolled his eyes at not only the complete medical/anatomical inaccuracy going on onscreen, but also at Luke, who was covering his eyes.

Reid couldn’t help but laugh again. Luke made a disgusted noise in his throat, and then got up, stalking out of the theater. Reid followed him after a moment with a forlorn sigh as he abandoned his delicious popcorn.

He caught up with Luke in the lobby.

“Come on, Luke,” he said, slipping his arm around Luke’s shoulders. “I didn’t mean anything by it.” He smiled. “You’re just so cute when you’re scared.”

“Shut up, Reid,” Luke poked him in the ribs. “You know I didn’t want to see this movie anyway.”

“It’s Halloween, Luke, what else were we going to see?” Luke sighed. “We can go, if you want.”

“But you wanted to see it,” Luke said. “I don’t want to ruin your night.”

“I’m with you, Mr. Snyder.” Reid pressed a kiss quickly to Luke’s lips. “Nothing could ruin that.”

“Well, when you put it like that…” Luke smiled.

“Besides, the sooner we get home, the sooner I get to have my wicked way with you.” Reid whispered in his ear as they left the theater. Luke had to force back a shudder.

“Reid, we’re in public,” he hissed.

“So let’s walk fast, then.”

*

They had walked to the movies earlier, enjoying the crisp fall weather, probably one of the last halfway decent days before they would be hit with all kinds of snow and slush.

“Hey, let’s cut through here,” Reid suggested as they walked past the Sunrise Cemetery, next to one of the older churches in town. Luke hesitated. He normally didn’t mind cemeteries, but he was already jumpy enough tonight. “It’s a shortcut and you know it.” Reid continued, stepping behind Luke and deliberately pressing his cock against Luke’s ass. Luke let out a groan, and gave in. He wanted to get home just as much as Reid did.

“Fine,” Luke said. “Can we please just hurry?”

“Why?” Reid asked, as Luke walked a little quicker. “You afraid the boogeyman is going to get you?”

“Seriously, Reid, you’re not funny.” Luke snapped. “Keep it up, and you’ll be lucky if you let you back in our bed by Thanksgiving.”

“I’m just having fun,” Reid laughed. “I’ll stop.”

“Thank you.” They walked in silence for a moment, and then put his arm around Luke again, pulling him close. Luke sighed, laying his head on Reid’s shoulder. It was a beautiful night, and he was out with a handsome man who loved him.

“You know,” Reid murmured, slowing down, and looking around.

“What?” Luke asked. He met Reid’s gaze. “Oh, no. No way.”

“I didn’t say anything!” Reid exclaimed.

“We are not having sex in the cemetery, Reid.” Luke replied. “I’m pretty adventurous, but that’s pushing it even for me.”

“Not even a…” Reid started to sink to his knees as he talked, palming Luke’s cock through his jeans.

“Not even that,” Luke tugged Reid back up to his feet, willing his erection to go away. “The faster we get home, the faster you get what you want.”

*

They walked quietly after that, neither one talking, just enjoying themselves when suddenly Reid stopped and whipped his head around. “What was that?”

“That’s not funny, Reid.” Reid turned deadly serious eyes on him.

“And if I was joking, I’d start laughing right about now,” Reid replied. He didn’t. Luke swallowed hard.

“Let’s just go.” He grabbed Reid’s arm, and they both walked a lot faster now. Other noises began sounding behind them, and they walked even faster still. Luke was cursing the fact that he’d agreed to go this way - it was Halloween, and God only knew what was out there in the cemetery - it was Oakdale, after all.
A horrible sound rang out just off to the left of them, and they both sprang into a run. Something jumped out at them a moment later, tackling Reid to the ground. “Reid!” Luke shouted, turning and nearly falling as he stopped mid-stride. He ran back to help Reid, who was wrestling with someone, a woman it looked like. “Hey! Get off him!” Luke yelled, and the woman turned her head and hissed in his direction. Luke paused for barely a second, because what he’d just seen could not be real.

Of all the things he’d worried about being in the cemetery tonight - rapists, murderers, muggers, gay bashers - zombies had not been on his list. Luke pushed her off Reid, grimacing when her arm when flying, the stench of her decomposing body filling his nostrils.

“Reid, come on, let’s go!” he exclaimed, jerking Reid to his feet. He slung Reid’s arm around his shoulders, and Reid groaned in pain as they hurried through the cemetery. He could hear more behind them, their groans and moans filling the air as they tried to move as fast as they could.

“That was a…” Reid gasped out as they ran.

“Zombie,” Luke answered. “I’m pretty sure.”

“Well, that’s going to make for an interesting story in the morning.”

“Just shut up and keep moving.” Luke ordered. He could see an old abandoned house in front them; it’s worn out visage springing up in the middle of the cemetery like a welcoming beacon.

Just then, something grabbed Luke’s ankle. He and Reid both fell to the ground, crying out in pain. His ankle throbbed, and one quick look at Reid indicating he might have passed out.

The Zombies apparently saw Reid as the weaker pray, and Luke could only look on in horror as they gathered around Reid.

Luke knew he should run; knew he should try to get away…but it was Reid. “Reid!” he screamed. A silence fell, and the zombies all moved away from Reid, as if waiting for something.

And then Reid sat up.

Except it wasn’t Reid; his Reid didn’t have decaying flesh hanging from his body or a lifeless look in his eyes. Suddenly, Luke was tackled by one of the zombies, his mouth and nose filled with the horrible smell. Luke managed to shove him off, and took off at a dead run, heading for the house. Maybe he could barricade himself inside.

He tore into the small dwelling, the interior dusty and the furniture covered in sheets. He did his best to block the door with the furniture, but finally gave up when his ankle would no longer support him. Luke fell to the ground in a heap, and just lay where he was, hoping that the zombies came and took him quickly.
He felt like he couldn’t breathe, his terror at the situation and his utter grief that Reid was…
A loud cracking sound made him jump. An arm broke through the wall behind him, just above his head. The zombies were everywhere then, trying to break in any way they could. Reid himself crashed through the door, towering over him, his hands reaching out for Luke.

Reid’s hand touched his shoulder, and Luke screamed again.

“God, Luke, wake up!” Reid shook him. Luke forced his eyes open.

“What?” he asked, his voice shaking. “Reid?” He breathed out in shock.

“You were having a nightmare,” Reid told him as Luke threw his arms around Reid and held him tight. “Hey, Luke, it’s okay. It was just a dream.”

“Yeah. “ Luke let out a shaky laugh.

“Come to bed?” Reid asked. Luke nodded, still feeling the effects of his dream. “And no more watching scary movies before bed, okay?”

Yeah - definitely no more scary movies before bed.
