Before Luke, Reid would come home tired but wound up from a late night emergency surgery. A few yoga stretches and an hour’s worth of infomercials later Reid would finally lay down and fitfully sleep replaying the surgery in his mind. He would wake up exhausted with the sheets all tangled around his legs. All that changed when he and Luke made the leap and moved in together.

It was a huge step for Reid. He was afraid his late night habits would drive Luke away or at least drive him to the spare bedroom. Reid warned Luke of his restless ways, but Luke told him not to worry and everything would work out.

It did work out. Reid still came home tired but wound up from a late night surgery. But now he slipped under the covers and nestled himself next to a sleeping Luke. With his head on Luke’s chest Reid closed his eyes and listened to the metronomic beating of his lover’s heart. Its soothing song comforted Reid and quickly lulled him to a restful sleep.
