For some reason, the background seems sorta Titan A.E. to me, but that may be just because I've seen it recently...

BTW, I was just by the Guardtower earlier this evening, and in their "new releases" section they have the new(-ish) Mutants & Masterminds: the Golden Age book that has a bunch of your work in it. Trés cool.

The background of the illustration is very retro, down to the "Star Trek : The Motion Picture" inspired buttons and brown color scheme and the "Macintosh" blue displays from the computers (with little nods to 2001 and Lucas in there).
I was inspired by the Hildebrant Brothers on this one.

The Golden Age is a really pretty book--and I hope I am not too biased. The fact that they used the "Super Soldier" illustration to headline the table of contents was very, very nice. It looks better than I thought it would.

Oh yeah--and I went to Art School, so I can use technical terms like "pretty" with impunity. Heh Heh.
