Dear Monday.

Fuck you a lot. No, for serious.

No love, Pru.

PS, granted, I wasn't assaulted by any old ladies on the metro today.

Meanwhile, I'm writing an alternate universe. For those of you who have read And Still, tell me, what do you think would have happened if that time instead of crossing the street, Sirius had stayed ( Read more... )

hard to say, since at the time i was cheering him on to cross the street and KILL KILL KILL.

but i imagine he would have gone back to the hospital, and beat himself up about not having the courage to cross the street (because he'd feel like he let james down). after that, i dunno. :)

I love your stories, and I also love alternate universes where Sirius's life doesn't completely suck, so I'm very embarrassed at having no answer to this question. But I thought I'd at least be encouraging and excited about the idea of the story. I do think that there'd probably be some sort of intense guilt and a need to do something completely ridiculous for Harry.

Crossing the street at the very end of the story, right?

Right now, all I have I mind is the piece you wrote some time ago.
And now I'm imagining Sirius near Remus' bed, with.. well, Remus dead. And really, just try to write that and I'll be Very Very Upset(TM).

well, you asked for it...sorry so long... anonymous June 23 2004, 23:13:22 UTC
Hmm, actually I imagine him breaking down by Remus' bed while Remus is still unconscious (because I can't see Sirius holding it in at that point, and if it's not to kill Peter..).

Then I see the POV shifting to Remus as Remus wakes, with the interior of Sirius' head a mystery to him (and us) for a while. Sirius will have chosen him for the first time, and in such a major way going against his desire for instant revenge, and after the madness of And Still...I just see Sirius shutting down for a while, letting his physical presence be the only comfort he can offer Remus after all the guilt and betrayal and self-loathing going on inside. It will have to be a transformational time for Sirius I think, if he's about to go on living. And I think part of Remus will be stunned that Sirius held on for him, once he knows the whole truth about the secret keeper.

Yes, and he would have changed, then. Like he said.

I don't know, myself. I think Sirius would have had to get that emotion out somehow (like killing Harry for the reminder of James and Lils and making us not have to suffer through OotP's angst-bits). But since he's a baby, I'll be quiet and go with the other Anon's answer.
