1. Clearly I should have fandom anniversaries more often! Because people make me lovely things! Like
this fan art for the mistletoe fic, which is spectacular! (Look at James's eyes! and the graceful lines of the mistletoe! and the sincerity in Michael's kiss!) And also
girlinventor wrote holiday fic for ME! In which there is the Fourth of July, Charles eating

I love The Last Station for many reasons. Helen Mirren being one of them, James being another, and of course the lovely Anne-Marie. And I really, really liked The Conspirator and yet I've seen so many other people who didn't and it makes me sad. I also adore James' beard in that one. It looks all soft and fluffy and ginger.
I was awake at 10am and ended up falling back to sleep while cuddling my pug. He looked sad and was acting a bit like he didn't feel well. Now he seems fine. Perhaps we both just needed some sleep.

Oh, yes, Anne-Marie, too! She's fantastic. I also really liked Christopher Plummer in that role; he brings so many nuances, when it'd be just as easy to play him one-dimensional and driven. I liked The Conspirator, just not as much...their scriptwriting wasn't as crisp, or as natural-sounding (even given the historical setting) as it should've been. But James and Robin Wright are marvelous.
Hopefully you're both better today! Cuddling often helps. :-)

I actually watched The Last Station before I really knew who Anne-Marie was and when I realized who she was I got all excited. I definitely like it over The Conspirator but I guess it just irks me to see people dislike it. Especially when they don't really have reasons for not liking it. Or their reason is because they don't like James' beard. And I love his beard. Stupid reason to hate a movie.
Definitely feeling better. Cuddling definitely helps. :D

I know how you feel about the sanity. Fic is my break from academic work! Still writing, but such a different kind.
I could understand not liking the movie for a reason--maybe the dialogue's just that annoying, maybe it's not as historically accurate as it could be--but for no reason at all? or for a silly reason like the facial hair? (I actually thought it was a bit too much beard for him, but it's not like he's ever NOT attractive!) Silly people.
*more cuddling for you* We've also got cookies...?

2. Earthquake! Eek! (Was going to say 'What?', but then I remembered California, and therefore it's probably not all that surprising...). Everyone all right, I trust? (I'm not sure how serious 4.5 is...)
3. Googled the story and read the potted Wikipedia version, and I have say that it suits Charles and Erik right down to the ground! Looking forward to it! :D
4. That tea sounds rather nice! I like citrus-y teas :) (Am currently panicking slightly about the fact that my regular supermarket seems to have stopped selling my favourite tea - here's hoping it was just a glitch on that one occasion...) Also, does Awesome Husband have a brother...? ;)
5. Looking forward to all of them! \o/
6. I'll take some of those degrees! Haven't been able to sit outside at lunch for a week and I miss it! (funny how you can get used to it in only three days...)
7. Saw The Conspirator myself a few weeks back, and actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would, ( ... )

2. Yeah, it wasn't all that surprising, it just happened to arrive right as I was typing! 4.5 isn't that bad, really. Shook a couple of the action figures (amusingly, the Jane Austen action figure landed on Captain America...) but nothing else. Bigger than the usual tiny ones, but not a huge deal, overall ( ... )

2. You have a Jane Austen action figure? That's almost too awesome for words! *g*
3. I'm trying to work out where other characters fit in, at the moment...
I do love that part of the exercise - working out which characters fit where, and at the same time still trying to preserve something of the canon relationships so that it all makes sense.
4. Crossing my fingers on the tea-front (the only alternative if they don't start restocking is to buy a selection box, which is more expensive - or see if I can buy it online!)
6. I know you like Weather, but I really hope it doesn't rain the whole time you're over here in good ol' Blighty!
7. Yes, the opening scene was a little pointless. And I wasn't expecting it at all, given what I knew about the plot of the film. Clearly they had some of the budget left to burn... ;) Also, am agreeing with Awesome Husband on the subject of the hat, I'm afraid...

“I do like dogs. And cats. And-”
“James, you like everything. And everything likes you.”
“That’s not true. There’re horses.”
“…what?”
“Not that I dislike horses. Horses are completely likable. They just don’t like me. Or, more accurately, my allergic reactions don’t like them.”
“You-since when are you allergic to anything?”
“Since always, probably. I just never knew until it happened. And, by the way, on location, with Robert Redford shouting that you’ve only got three hours to finish that scene and five layers of authentic costuming on, is not the time to discover that you can’t breathe, in case that ever happens to you.”
“You-James-” All at once he can’t breathe, either. James is allergic to things? Hasn’t told anyone? Hasn’t told him? He can see that moment, all too horribly clear: James stopping mid-sentence, glorious voice arrested in his throat, eyes going wide with the struggle for air and then closing. James ( ... )

3. More fic is always good. :D
5. EEEE! That's AWESOME news!
6. Yipes. O_o I hope it cools off for you soon!
7. I liked "The Last Station" better too. James is so very sweet and adorable in it, I just want to pinch his cheeks and take him home with me.
8. YAY! :DDDD

3. I needed more Erik/Charles inspiration! Plus it's a gorgeous medieval love story.
5. There're a few excerpts of the first one floating around somewhere...over in this thread...watch me hurt James some more! http://luninosity.livejournal.com/64263.html?thread=1535751#t1535751
6. It's supposed to be worse tomorrow! I miss England. I miss rain. /sadface ...at least we get to escape to NorCal in a couple of weeks for a friend's wedding. That has to be better.
7. He's just so EARNEST! I want to hug him for pretty much the entire movie. But besides that I do think the writing is better, overall. And Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer are brilliant.
8. It'll probably be tomorrow, since it seems to've grown a couple of extra scenes. But there are some bits of it above! Oh, overprotective Michael, you're such fun. :-p

3. Akhadwhjhdjkkjdsf can't wait!!
4. That's so sweet of him!! (Also, that sounds like fascinating tea! African honeybush?)
5. YAY!!!!
6. Ugh that's awful. Stay inside if you can! (It's been high 90s here so of course I went on a run. I was informed that crosses the line between "hardcore" and "stupid" but oh well...)
7. Never seen either, might have to do so.
8. Oh yeah I think I saw an interview where he said he enjoyed riding horses but was allergic. (Of course my mind went immediately to James in breeches and boots... hnnnggg...) Oh Michael, he WOULD be overprotective because of that... (that's one of those traits I find endearing in fic and can't stand in real life lol)

3. Soon! The next thing is probably that first one of those. After I finish the one mentioned in #8, which should be tonight or tomorrow morning. :-p
4. He was even more awesome tonight, actually. I kind of want to amend this entry. I now have new jewelry. It is pink gold and amethyst. :-)
5. :D :D That one totally counts as research, right?
6. I did yoga. Inside. With the a/c on. Ventured outdoors to check the mail and felt the heat through the soles of my flip-flops. I'm amazed you felt the urge to go running in (slightly less) that!
7. You should! The Last Station is a better movie, but the other one's not bad, and interesting if you like American history. They both involve James with facial hair ( ... )

4. Oh wow, that sounds gorgeous!
6. Hah. Ha. Ha. I most decidedly did NOT feel the urge to run. I had to yell at myself for a solid 20 minutes before I just went for it.
7. James with facial hair... no. Just no. I think the only celebrity I like better with facial hair is RDJ.
8. Hahaha I have been so severely tempted to punch someone I know for being overprotective. (Except I happen to know that I punch really hard and even when very pissed I didn't want to break his jaw.)
Oh wow, James really has the patience of a saint. Poor Michael though, that's a rough time for the realization you love someone. *pats head* you're not omnipotent Michael, so take a few deep breaths, realize you can't control everything, and maybe save your freak outs for situations where James is actually in trouble.

4. It is! I usually don't like gold gold, but this pink gold is lovely--almost bronze-colored, and that plus amethyst is somehow very antique-Victorian-steampunk-effect. He has good taste in jewelry. :-)
7. He's fine with a bit of scruffiness, and so's Michael, but...full-on beard, no, indeed. Umm...RDJ and Hugh Jackman, I think. Hugh needs at least sideburns or something...
8. Is it wrong that I kind of want to see what happens when you punch someone now? A Bad Person, obviously. Not a friend.
*pats head* you're not omnipotent Michael, so take a few deep breaths, realize you can't control everything, and maybe save your freak outs for situations where James is actually in trouble
...awesome image of you, or possibly James, patting Michael's head and giving him milk and cookies. James is trying to be patient, but he is also kind of annoyed. (But Michael's also not exactly wrong about James being a little too casual about these ( ... )
