aww!

May 25, 2012 21:21

So I went upstairs to change, while Awesome Husband made some copies of our wedding DVD for family. Came back down to find him holding a blank DVD, sending little flickers of light all over the living room, while Evil Demon Cat jumped and pounced and scampered. So I sat on the stairs and watched my boys play.

In other news, Part Eight of the ( Read more... )

poor james, adventures with cat ownership, adorableness, love, promises of fic to come, maybe original fic?

I know! Sorry! Look, this is part one of at least six, if that helps? Also Kevin gets to punch Michael in the face, eventually.

Oooh, I'm down with Kevin punching this Michael, though right now (and from the extra snippet below) I might rather have James punch him.

Have you posted a pic of your Evil Furry Overlord? I can't remember.

Well--I did just give you a wee bit more, below... Also, James, in this 'verse, at least at this point, probably wouldn't. Though maybe by the end. (I suspect they both need to grow up a bit. Michael needs to not be a dick, and James needs to not let Michael be a dick to him.)

Um, no, I don't think I have! Will try to remedy that sometime soon. Evil Furry Overlord is currently asleep on his catperch, next to the couch. Little black ball of fur, looking far too innocent to be the demon we know he is...

OMG poor James! And I really really want to punch Michael in the face. "Why are you still here" REALLY Michael? Really?! And James tucking Michael in even after that just broke my heart :(

Poor both of them, I think! I mean, obviously poor James. (On so many levels; physically, but also the heartbreak of that moment: he did want Michael, but not like this...and you can't just stop caring about a person just like that, and he can see how confused Michael is, too.) (Basically: James is WAY TOO NICE FOR HIS OWN GOOD ( ... )

Sorry, sorry, I know! *hugs* *offers chocolate* I am hoping it's coming across as not JUST Michael being a, er, douchecanoe, though. He's having a hard time with his own desires, too. (Not that that's an excuse! But it is kind of a reason. Also, and they ARE going to talk about this by the end, James never says no, even though he could. Which is why this is--at least in the first couple of sections--probably dubcon instead of noncon.) (If James did say no, Michael'd probably still be angry and frustrated, but he WOULD stop. He's not THAT awful a person ( ... )

Oh, my heart. *wibbles* Poor James. *wants to smack Michael* I'm glad you let us know there will be a happy ending, otherwise I wouldn't be able to read it!

*hugs* Of course happy endings! Always! And James needs all the cuddles.

(I actually...feel a bit bad for Michael. He's so very confused about everything: he's never wanted men before, he doesn't want to have to question all his assumptions about his sexuality, and he's never felt like this about ANYONE before, and he's trying so hard to tell himself he's not in love with James, and all that turmoil just comes out as anger and pain. So, basically, he's not a bad person, says The Author...)

I laughed hard at Evil Demon Cat. My friend K and I are constantly saying "Are cats are assholes" because they are. Her's is appropriately named Loki and I've slept over a few times on the couch which Loki thinks means I'm going to play with him all night. But they're still somehow adorable at the same time.

Speaking of the fest prompts, I have been trying to work on your prompt, but I got stuck because I think it would work well for the long awaited Dark Side Verse part 3. I just didn't want to write it that way without your okay. If it's not okay, then I can still make it work. I just may have to put my brain is a headlock til it cooperates.

Can't wait to see original fic and more of your fest fic. :D

Oh, they ARE. The adorableness is part of their diabolical skill set. It's how they keep us enslaved. Also, Loki is a fantastic cat name! (Ours is Percival, 'cause I'm a medievalist geek.)

I think it would work well for the long awaited Dark Side Verse part 3. ...Oh, yes, it totally would, wouldn't it? reconciliation after pain? So, yes, please, if that's where the muse is hinting! :D :D

Original fic probably Monday or Tuesday? I want to read it over and make a couple of edits. I'm finding that the bits I like best now are not the same bits I liked back then, and my writing style has changed a little. Still, this one got published, so...someone liked it! :-)

Loki used to be a tiny kitten so it was Little Orange Kitty. Now he's big mischievous cat. I have my 4 cats Suzy, Autumn, Manny, and Duff. They're all adorably evil, especially together.

Then Dark Side Verse it shall be. :D And very much reconciliation after pain.

I always find something I want to edit later in many of the things I've written, including old school papers that I liked at the time. Perks of writing I think.

Four cats is a lot of cats! My parents have three, right now. Though they have had more. As long as they all get along...

Yay for reconciliation! Looking forward to it. I think I'm actually working on a similar theme, of course, with *my* first Fest Fic; but it'll be much shorter than yours, for which we've been waiting with anticipatory glee!

Oh, yes; if you're ever satisfied with your writing, you're probably not doing it right! Nothing's ever perfect, after all. :-)

This image is almost too cute!

And that snippet has left me torn between YAY! and getting in line to punch Michael!

They are adorable, my boys. *cuddles them* I just felt the need to share all the cute with everyone. :-)

Poor Michael. It seems I'm making everyone want to punch him. He's really not a bad person! Only very confused and angry (mostly at himself) and being forced to question all his assumptions. But he'll end up having that sort-of epiphany moment after Kevin intervenes and points out exactly what he's doing and how much he's hurting James (who is of course not saying anything, because he's trying to be there for Michael). There's definitely the sudden disorientation of looking at it through someone else's eyes, and Michael realizing, wait, what AM I doing, I don't want to hurt James, I want James to be happy--at which point he figures out what he does want. Except it might be too late, since he already HAS caused all the hurt. (It's not too late. Happy endings YES.)
