So I've been following and absolutely loving this fic, but I wasn't good about reviewing the last few chapters, which is ridiculous because the last few chapters are amazing. I adore all the characterization that goes into James's lightsaber - choosing a "flawed" gem that produces something unique and beautiful - and his test, which was chilling and heartbreaking and just gah. And I love Michael's POV and how he tries so hard to give James the support he needs.

Oh, and bringing in James's animal allergies was a nice touch ;-)

Anyway, since I feel bad for lurking when I should have been commenting, I made you a cover for this fantastic fic. Here:

OH WOW THOSE ARE SO BEAUTIFUL *in awe*

I love the color in the first one, and James's pensiveness combined with the city; it could be exactly the moment, early on, when he's questioning whether he ought to be there, and realizing how *much* he wants to be there...all the possibilities, and all the weight of it, too, right there in the visual. *hugs you* The motion is amazing, too--like, how do you even make things like this, seriously, you are a magician. <33 ( ... )

Oh, thank you! *intense blushing* I was mostly inspired by how James has had photo shoots where he looks like he's dressed up as a citizen of Tatooine (for the first one, but you can't tell because I ended up cropping too closely around his face) and a Sith Lord (for the second one). But the gifs are not mine -- I just pulled them apart and added my own stuff on top of each frame -- so I'm not sure if I should share them on Tumblr. Is gif plagiarism a thing? Anyway, The first one is almost twice the size limit for Tumblr gifs, so I'd have to either cut out half the frames or decrease the colors by half, or some mix of the two. Could be an interesting and educational challenge, actually. Hmm ( ... )
