My classes are all only 50 minutes this term; I feel like I'm cramming as much as possible into each one. Also, porn during office hours is, uh, the most productive use of your office hours, ~obviously~.
I always end up re-adjusting my course calendar throughout the semester. Even the really structured classes end up needing to be nipped and tucked here and there. It's crazy. Also, my 10 AM students had a guest speaker and like, it reminds you when you're in the audience how much differently time flows for them. Like, he was lively, and I was still like, wow, this is a long 50 minutes.
I have a feeling we'll end up just cutting out a couple of the later days, yeah. We'll see. I hate to lose any of the fairy tale stuff, but... sigh.

I actually have a friend who wrote her diss. on children's fantasy, fan cultures, and especially Harry Potter fandom. She's got a fantastic job now, teaching children's literature at a lovely university. I am both happy for her and terribly jealous that I did not think of writing about porn before I got my project approved. :-)
Indeed! It was totally one of those unexpected happy moments that then make you smile all afternoon, afterwards (I mean my students, not the porn, though I suppose that did also make me smile). They're a good class, so far, I think. I'm glad they think that way about the class, too! :D
