I meant to post this a while ago, but never got around to it. So, here, this is a piece of our lives, me and the Awesome Husband:

We have routines. This is one:

The Husband always calls me when he’s leaving work for the day. I’m almost always home first, one of the benefits of academia, so this gives me about half an hour to finish whatever I’m ( Read more... )

Yeah, we're disgustingly romantic, sometimes. Love. *happy sigh*

Awwwwwwww, this is so lovely! I hope one day to have a routine like this of my very own! (Obviously, not exactly like this, because this is yours, but...oh, you know what I mean!)

I like you being happy! :D

I think those little domestic moments--having routines, the fact that you can have routines--that's one of the best parts of a relationship, really. And I hope you have that, too! *cuddles you*

It's a nice feeling. Sometimes I forget to make the appreciative posts about that; but being happy is good. Which sounds simplistic, but, well--the best truths are simple ones, often! :-)

And also thank you! (I totally have a postcard that I keep meaning to send you. It's sitting on the table. I just fail at actually getting things into the mail.)

I think I kind of want to skip over the intial scary dating period and just get to the domestic moments and routines, when everything is a bit more settled! :)

I think sometimes we can forget what it's like to just be happy, with all the trials and tribulations and worries that make up life, so when we suddenly realise we are happy, it can be a bit of a surprise!

(And the only reason I don't fail at getting things in the mail is that we're allowed to send our mail through the post room at work - otherwise I'd be a lot worse at it! *hugs*)

Both stages are fun, in different ways! At first you get the fizz and excitement and discovery and crackling fire; and then you get the steady glow of the hearth, and that's nice, too...

I think sometimes we can forget what it's like to just be happy, with all the trials and tribulations and worries that make up life, so when we suddenly realise we are happy, it can be a bit of a surprise!

Oh yes this. How often do we really stop and think about the good things, rather than just getting through the day? But it's worth it, when we do. Plus we have good friends to be happy about! <3

(Ah, well, perhaps my problem is that I'm not on campus until next month, so I just lounge about at home and eye the things I should send to people, as they look back, meaningfully...)
