and we begin; also, have some James/Michael porn

May 24, 2013 11:00

The first bit of the Awesome McFassy Round Robin Collective Fic-Writing Experiment is now up, as written by me, over here. Now it's the brilliant significantowl's turn. I'll put the whole thing up on AO3 and LJ when we finish, of course.

In other news, I think it's time to watch Hot Fuzz again.

And I still have that Unpleasant Headache. Hmm.

In any case, shayzgirlRead more... )

fandom, hot fuzz, write all the things!, fic: james/michael, friends or evil enablers?

I hope it's open-ended enough! I figured you could do something with that, though, because you're marvelous! And I'm excited to see where it goes! I honestly don't have an endgame in mind, so anything can happen...

(I'm also about to edit this post to include the McFassy porn thing I apparently wrote today because shayzgirl and the DD post conspired to make me...)

It's perfect! I know just what I'm gonna do and where I'm gonna leave it for shayzgirl. *flexes fingers*

And mmm. "I…think after this…I'm neither, sir." sarky!James, you are my favorite ♥

I am intrigued! *waits patiently* And also glad it worked! :-)

I randomly really like this little scene. I think that's partly because I liked spending time with these versions of them again, and partly because I like how comfortable they are together, slipping in and out of role when they need to be themselves for a second, Michael checking in or James being sarcastic, and still both clearly having fun. As sex should be! :D

GUH. I'm all for expanding this!

And yay for the round robin! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. :D

I thought about doing it properly before posting--with, you know, internal thoughts, and curious inanimate objects--but then I was lazy. But I liked thinking about them back in the early days of that 'verse, being all playful and happy and teasing and experimenting. This was fun. Perhaps there could be more, at some point...

And, agreed! I am SUPER excited to see where this goes. I really don't have an endgame in mind, and I left the opening fairly, well, open, I think, so I'm really curious! I trust significantowl to come up with something brilliant, of course. Possibly with an actual plot, even, unlike mine. :-p

Very happy to have enabled to you write a porn thing involving McFassy and roleplaying and all the love. :D

I think it's your turn to write top!James, though, now? *teasing* This was fun. I liked getting to think about them in that 'verse, being happy, experimenting, again--so thank YOU. :-) I also do like, I think, the way that they're still themselves, dropping in and out of role--Michael still wanting to make sure James is okay. <3

/cries. BUT I TOTALLY WOULD! ;A; My brain just... locks up on me whenever I attempt to write porny things anymore. The one porn fic I did write, I had like 3-4 poeple on twitter encouraging me at the time (and also someone giving the suggestion for where Michael would find lube in a library...) My brain isn't very nice to me with writing lately anyway, but it basically becomes like Melz ("You don't know about the Doctor cos you're stupid" except replace Doctor with gay sex) and is meaner than usually and I just end up closing notebook or writing tab and not writing anything porny. But I want to... I just don't know who to get past my brain. And I think it's maybe because I'm not that educated when it comes to sex, despite having had it (though admittedly not that great and it's kind of left me thinking I might never have sex again... tmi sorry.) Writing is hard anyway. Writing porn is even harder. If I could, I would gladly write top!James because this fandom needs more. Top!James was in the first ever McFassy fic I read and it's why ( ... )

Well--the thing that helps (because heaven knows I've never actually had gay sex either!) is to actually not be very specific, as regards description! Lots about sensations and emotions; less about the play-by-play, as it were. (And, sorry to hear! Sex can be fun; but it can also be not-fun. It depends so very much on your partner and how considerate they are of your needs...but one bad time shouldn't spoil the entire act. *hugs*)

I think I default to top!Michael just because I feel like James himself would--from his general kindness, and the things he's said in interviews, and the way even he seemed to assume Michael'd top--but I do agree that it's disproportionate in the fic! I like reading top!James, sometimes, for variety; and certainly I think Michael'd be willing to do things that way, he's not afraid to experiment, physically. So yes, there should be more! :-)

Boo the headache but yay to Hot Fuzz! :)

And this fic is delicious by the way! People telling people what they want to do/what they're going to do to them is one of my favourite things! As you well know... ;)

Hot Fuzz is marvelous. "The greater good..." SO looking forward to World's End...

It is, indeed! I quite like it, too. The anticipation...that's almost like experiencing all the emotion twice, really. And this one was just enjoyable to write. I think that's partly because I liked spending time with these versions of them again, and partly because I like how comfortable they are together, slipping in and out of role when they need to be themselves for a second, Michael checking in or James being sarcastic, and still both clearly having fun. As sex should be! :D

It's probably some kind of blasphemy, but I think I prefer Hot Fuzz to Shaun of the Dead! Not that SOTD isn't great too - just rewatched it the other day as a matter of fact - but I like that HF has a more solid plot, other than just running away from zombies!

I actually do too--it just feels...tighter, somehow, as a plot. Like Shaun is an brilliant opening night, and Hot Fuzz is a cast and crew that's been working together for several weeks and has got it down. Of course, the Husband and I are also fans of Spaced, and Edgar Wright in general... :-)

Mmm, lovely. I like these short bits of kinkiness. :D

... And now to actually focus on getting this blasted reading done so I can properly start this paper. Stupid end of term...

They like it, too! And I had fun getting to spend time with these versions of them again, all excited and experimenting and in love...there might be more. You never know. :-)

Good luck! What's it on? Something historical and curious?

İ don't think any of us are going to say no to more kinky porn!

Papers, actually - plural. The one İ was refering to is for my İslamic art and architecture class. I'm talking about the various forms of representation of authority throughout the Umayyad Empire, using the Great Mosque of Damascus, the desert palace of Mshatta, the evolution of İslamic coinage, and the Great Mosque of Cordoba as examples.
And it is interesting, İ'm just having trouble focusing because my brain is convinced that the term is over and just wants to go and plan my post-term trips already. (Jerusalem for about 5 days, then a huge swath of Europe for 18 days! :D)

...I did want to expand it, even while writing it, wanting to toss in Michael's thoughts and reactions as he watches James, both incredibly turned on and also wanting to check in and make sure this's okay, since it is fairly kinky role-play; and I kept saying to myself, no, this is SHORT, it's COMMENT-FIC, darn it! ...but I'd still like to. (I'm pretty sure it's either relatively early--like, between parts 4 and 5--"Save The Day" and "Undarken The Night"; or between parts 8 and 9, "Need" and "Turn", though I'm not sure which of those I like better.)

So you're talking about the ways in which both secular and religious symbolic artifacts work to reinforce dominant narratives of power? or, perhaps, to complicate those narratives by insisting on their own necessity? using thing theory, are you? :-)

That sounds like a BRILLIANT trip. Any places you're particularly looking forward to? Also, pictures! :-)
