Chapter 1 of the Lune Legacy

This chapter follows the foundress as she tries to find love in all the wrong places.

This is the foundress of the Lune legacy, Cleo. She's a young adult with barely any money and a dream to be a politic power. She's ambitious, charasmatic and artistic. She's overly friendly with people and is a hopeless romantic at heart.

She bought a 40x40 plot of empty land and immediatly went about building her house. Unfortunately, we ran out of money, didn't we Cleo?
"Um...no, of course not, I like this drab grey color."

Sure, you do.

The downstairs is lacking in just about everything. She can eat, pee, shower and paint, but that's about it. I suppose you like this room having nothing in it too, don't you Cleo?
"It has character."

Just wait until you see the upstairs...

The upstairs has a bed. Just a bed, nothing else. Cleo ran out of money before we could install the second bathroom. Eventually we plan to make that deck off the bedroom into something amazing.

As you can see, Cleo bought a plot of land that was in the ritzy neighbourhood. She's constantly worried that the neighbourhood association is going to come knocking on her door insisting that she does something with that eyesore of a house of hers.

To try to get her mind off her current troubles, Cleo decided to paint.

And with that, the 'Wall of Horrid Paintings' is born. I think I prefer the grey...

Cleo doesn't agree.

She couldn't stand being cooped up in that house anymore and set out to find a romantic interest in the park.

That's where she met Stiles McGraw, the only man in the entire park. Deciding to give it a go, she walked up and introduced herself.
"Where do you work? Are you single? What are your interests? Tell me about yourself."

Cleo may come off as a bit pushy. She found out that Stiles is in the music industry and single. Not bad, Cleo.

Unfortunately, he's also frugal and a loner. Time to move on.

"I didn't like his shirt anyway."

On her way home, she stopped off at the library and used their computers to get a job as a podium polisher. She was hoping to run into some guys there, but no luck.
Sad and defeated, she came home and went to bed. Her first day in Sunset Valley was one that she would happily forget.

Her second day in town was going no better than her first. She got up, went to work, and went out to a diner alone when she got off. She met her co-workers during the course of her day, all women.
"I don't think there's any men in this town..."

Wait, Cleo! Over there behind the trees, it's a man.

Cleo ran over to meet the man I pointed out to her, Thornton Wolff. She was smitten with him at first glance and spent the entire late afternoon and early evening trying to get to know him. He was in business and was married to Morgana. This saddened Cleo, but didn't stop her advances.

Thornton didn't seem to appreciate her compliments, and they soon parted ways. Well, Cleo, back to the drawing board.
"What do you mean? I met a great guy tonight."

Cleo! He's married.

"I know, I know. But that doesn't mean that he can't entertain me until I find mister right."

Like I said, she's smitten.

With the next day upon us, Cleo has decided to user her mirror to practice talking to Thornton instead of jumping right in. Yeah, Cleo, because your lack of practice was the problem.

And the 'Wall of Horrid Paintings' multiplies...

After work that day, Cleo invited Thornton over. They chatted on the front porch for a while, and she even got him to hug her, although, it was only a friendly hug. She felt she was making progress.

He left all too soon for Cleo's liking and she settled in with a book she was to read for work.

"He's coming around to my way of thinking."

Sure he is.

The next morning, we're met by Cleo looking none too pleased. What's up, Cleo?

Oh, I see. You broke the toilet. Way to go.

Despite her horrible start to the day, Cleo has managed to secure a promotion to Ballot Counter.
"I don't have to start dressing like this chick, do I?"

I hope not.

Once again, Cleo invited Thornton over as soon as she got home. She enthused about her promotion, happy to be making a little better money. He seemed happy for her.

They chatted and made silly faces at eachother into the night. I'm starting to think that Cleo is too embarrassed of her house to invite him in.

Until finally the big moment came. Cleo flirted with Thornton and he didn't object!

Thornton left after the successful flirt, hopefully to go home to his wife. Cleo went upstairs and went to bed, feeling joy that she was well on her way with the man she had chosen.

Her joy carried over to the next morning and she decided to do something about the house. No more drab walls inside, and a brand new used television set. But Cleo, I thought you liked the grey?

"I did, but I was tired of hearing you complain."

Whatever.

Another day at work passes and another night spent chatting with Thornton. A friendly hug was as far as she got before he went home. I think this relationship is starting to move in reverse.

Cleo agrees with me judging by the look on her face.

"Thornton is such a jerk! I don't want to see him ever again! This relationship is over!"

After that explosion, she stomped off into the house and started to paint.

Cleo's phone started to ring. Her knees went weak as she realized who was calling. Hey, Cleo, what happened to never wanting to see him again?

"He's never called me before. It's so cute and romantic."

He seemed to make it a point to express to Cleo that he has no intentions of marrying her. She, of course, agreed.

Thornton has commitment issues, so this comes as no surprise to anyone.

The next morning, Cleo is met with an overflowing toilet. Remember the toilet, Cleo, you know, that thing you broke a couple days ago and still have not fixed?

Who thinks Cleo has romance on the brain?

The workday went well and Cleo got promoted to Campaign Intern. Too bad your love life isn't going as well as your career, huh?
"Shut up."

Big surprise, Cleo has invited Thornton over again. They seem a little closer after that chat on the phone last night.

Aw, Cleo has received her first kiss.

And she seems rather happy about it.

After some more romancing, Cleo has managed to get Thornton in her bed. Congratulations Cleo, after days of hard work, you finally succeeded.

Or, did you?

"This was not what I had in mind."

End of Chapter 1.  Chapter 2 will be out within a day or so, and hopefully Cleo has learned her lesson.  Comments are appreciated.  This story is also uploaded in the exchange under the username BlueChan.
