Lune Legacy - Chapter 5: Family Unit

Jun 17, 2009 18:37

Welcome to Chapter 5 of the Lune Legacy, entitled Family Unit.

Last chapter was ended in the taxi on the way home from the hospital where Cleo had triplet girls, Eve, Pandora, and Trey.  It was revealed that her husband, Connor, was not the father of the babies, but that Thornton Wolff was.

He accompanied Cleo back to her house where she unloaded the basket.  He, surprisingly, did not freak out about being surrounded by babies and toddlers.

Cleo is constantly worried about money and with the new additions to the household, she has even more reason to be worried.  Connor does not contribute much to the household funds, and Cleo may have to quit her job to take care of the babies.

It isn't long before Connor made his presence known, or tried to.  Cleo ignored him as usual.  Hands balled into fists, Connor was ready for a fight.

Connor accused Cleo of cheating, which got her attention.

"How dare that rude jerk accuse me of cheating on him?"

Well, to be fair, you did.

"You just messed with the wrong woman, Connor Frio."

Things may get ugly.

Cleo: You smell like trash, you look like trash, you just plain are trash!

Cleo: This marriage is over!

Connor: Wait, what?

Cleo: Over, done, finished, the end!  No more!

Connor: No, no, say it isn't so.  Please don't, we can make this work.

Connor started to cry so Cleo walked off after breaking his heart.

Cleo took comfort in her girls.  Breaking up with her husband wasn't easy, afterall, they had two kids together, which she had to raise all alone now.

"How inconsiderate of him."

Kelita's evil tendencies started to come out more the older she got.

Rose was visibly upset at the break up of her parents.

The next night, Thornton was back at the house.  Cleo had spent the day taking care of kids and needed some time to herself.  Besides that, she also had a couple of very important questions for him.

Nervous and scared, Cleo took Thornton's hand and managed to ask him to go steady with her and to move in.

You just broke up with your husband, he's still living in the house, and you're already moving onto the next guy, Cleo?

"Why waste time?"

Thornton must have been out of his mind, because he said yes to both questions.

The deal was sealed with a kiss and Thornton was trapped into living in a house with his girlfriend, her ex-husband, her two toddlers, and his three daughters.  Something had to give...

Cleo looked happy and at peace.  Maybe it was from Thornton agreeing to move in, or maybe it was from the $10,000 he brought with him.

That night Cleo and Thornton took the double bed upstairs...

While Connor stayed downstairs crying about Cleo.

"God, suck it up, it's been a whole day already!"

Thornton's contribution to the household funds was enough to finally build walls and buy better items.

The playroom was behind the living room.  Currently, the toddlers sleep in there.

The kitchen got a complete make over, and table and chairs were added.

And the babies have a room to themselves.

Cleo slept in late the next morning.  Unfortunately, both Thornton and Connor get up at the same time to go to work.

Which resulted in a stand-off in the kitchen.

Verbal insults were flung and arguments were had.

Until the pair decided it was time for physical violence.

Poor Cleo, missed all the excitement.

Thornton won the fight and promptly kicked out Connor, who didn't even say goodbye to his daughters.

Kelita doesn't quite get the concept of not chewing on things.  She's constantly chewing on or biting her toys.

Rose, on the other hand, is content to sit and play quietly.

Kelita was thinking about what evil things she did in her potty, while chewing on her own hand.

For being a loner, Rose is quite social.  She left the playroom to join mommy and 'new daddy' in the kitchen.  She actually took quite a liking to Thornton.

He doesn't seem to dislike children as much as he pretends to.

Night brought rest for the pair, but it didn't last long.

"Sleep, I need sleep!"

Bright and early they were up taking care of the babies.  The Lune household has become very chaotic.  There's always someone howling for attention, food, or a diaper change.

The weekend is spent teaching the toddlers important skills.

Cleo: That's right, Kelita, 'ambition'.  You need ambition so you can get a great job and support me when I retire early.

Even Thornton is helping out by teaching Rose to talk.

Thornton: Can you say 'divorce'?  That's what your mommy did to your old daddy.

Learning to walk is an entire family affair.

Before long it's birthday time for all the kids.  Kelita is first.

She grows up into a cute little girl.  She has her fathers hair and her mothers eyes.  She's taken the third trait of ambitious, as it's been chosen to be passed onto every generation.

Rose is next to age.  Surprise, surprise, Thornton is the one to carry her to the cake.

She grows into an absolutely adorable little girl.  She has her mothers hair and her fathers eyes.  She also has ambitious for her third trait.

Lastly are the babies.  Pandora resembles her father.

Eve resembles her mother.

By this time, Cleo was tired of the children's parties and left Trey on the porch as a tip for the mailman.

She grew into an odd looking little girl.

With the growth of all kids, this brings chapter 5 to a close.  Will Cleo survive the five children, and can she ever get Thornton to agree to marry her?  We'll have to see what chapter 6 brings.
