Lita's uncertain if it's all the tequila, the humid night, their current location or the proximity that's making her feel so lightheaded. Or perhaps, all four factors play an equal part, but she wouldn't realize that right away given the amount of tequila they have consumed. They being herself and Christopher Daniels, of course.

And the evening had begun so innocently. Really.

Chris was visiting, catching up with old friends and had run into Lita, quite literally, in the hallway. And in the instant that he touched her hand, having helped her back to her feet, she'd felt a spark of something that she hadn't felt in quite some time. And if the look on his face at the time was any indication, he felt it too.

Maybe they should have just left well enough alone.

But the damned words were out of her mouth before she had a chance to deliver a good mental slap. Innocent enough, really, just going out for drinks, maybe some karaoke if they were up to it. And it's not like they would be going alone since several mutual friends decided to invite themselves along.

And now, here they were, four shots of tequila later, finding themselves the lone occupants of the secluded corner booth.

It would be highly stupid to take another shot, they both realized this, and yet, there was just enough left in the bottle for one more shot each. But, either fortunately or unfortunately, they're closer to each other than they are to the alcohol. And she's licking her suddenly dry lips, hazel eyes flickering back and forth between his clouded gaze and his mouth.

Seconds tick by before their lips meet sloppily, desperately.

Maybe later they'll blame the alcohol, maybe later they'll claim they were both just lonely.

But for now, in that moment, it feels too good to stop.

And she isn't sure she wants to.
