Previously: Memories
After Amy had set up a corporate spending account for Angelina, the blonde woman was on her way to meet up with an interior design firm. According to Amy, the design firm was responsible for decorating all personal and private properties in the immediate Bischoff family. In addition to the family mansion in San Francisco and the vacation properties, one of the contractors was currently renovating a recently purchased castle in the French countryside. Obviously that particular contractor wouldn’t be available to meet with Angelina but Amy reassured her that the entire firm was well worth dealing with. Cost, of course, wouldn’t be an issue… Amy absolutely assuring her cousin that there was no set budget and if she wanted to spend $3,000 on a lamp than just spend the damn money.
Needless to say, whatever expectations that Angelina had were completely shattered when she was met by a brunette wearing ripped blue jeans and a Dead Kennedy’s t-shirt. Really, he looked more like he belonged behind a bar counter or in front of a microphone than in a pristine office.
“I’m looking for Patrick Shelley,” Angelina finally said, a slim eyebrow arching when the brunette smirked. “My cousin said that this design firm was highly recommended.”
“Normally, he’s booked months in advance,” the male replied, picking at a hangnail and taking a keen interest in the iPhone on his desk; “and that’s only to existing clients.”
An annoyed huff escaped Angelina, “as I said, my cousin recommended this firm. She never said anything about making an appointment but when she called, she said that Patrick Shelley was available, so…” the blonde woman trailed off, arms crossed just beneath her ample bosom, “can I see him or not?”
With a flourish, he gestured to himself, “You’re looking at him… though Amy only said this would be worth my time and so far? This isn’t worth my time.”
Angelina barely resisted the urge to roll her eyes, “Amy also told me that I would be impressed when I met you… unless she was thinking of someone else.”
“You’re Amy’s cousin?”
“Yes. I was standing there when she made the phone call earlier… I’m supposed to be your newest client but,” Angelina shrugged, tucking a few errant strands of hair behind her ears, “clearly you’re not interested or you’re just not capable of meeting the needs that I have for this project.”
“Good luck finding someone better,” he replied rather smartly. “Because I can tell you right now that you won’t.”
Angelina smirked, “it really shouldn’t be that difficult to find someone better than you. I’m sure that if I just picked someone out of the crowd, I’d have better luck.” Eying him she added, “Plus, like I said, this project has needs and I just don’t think that you’re capable of doing it.”
He gritted his teeth together, “you really think so, huh? How about you let me handle the first stage of this supposedly important project and we’ll go from there?”
Angelina arched an eyebrow, “at what price?”
He winked at her, “we’ll settle that later on,” and then he held out a hand, “so do we have a deal or not?”
Holding his gaze, she then reached for his hand, shaking firmly; “we have a deal.”
