Notes: Conclusion to a mini-series that also includes 13 & 81 & 82
The night that Castiel, Sam and Dean leave, they have breakfast for dinner which includes eggs, French toast and a heaping plate of bacon. But that was only on the stipulation that Dean or Sam would have to make the bacon and only have three attempts to do so.
Luckily, it seems that they’ve made bacon before, as it’s quite the hangover cure, so the two brothers don’t make too much of a mess in the kitchen.
Castiel does not join them for meals, and Lita’s not quite sure as to what he’s doing while they eat, but she doesn’t question his absence.
As Dean had stated yesterday, they would ‘mojo’ the house before they left and so the redhead presumes that Castiel is taking care of that.
When they’re finished eating, Sam mutters something about cleaning up and having a last minute load of laundry to check on. Lita doesn’t believe the excuse for a second but accepts it none the less. It does leave Lita and Dean alone for a little while, though neither of them say much of anything at first.
Lita has never asked where she stands in Dean’s life but she knows that she has a place.
Just as Dean knows that he’s always welcomed, Lita is fairly self-assured that she’ll see the green eyed brunette again.
Lita never asks him when he’ll be back and he’ll never ask her to wait.
It’s with that same silent understanding between them that they part, Dean taking a kiss for the road and another for good luck.
