As time draws closer to their father’s wedding, Christy and Amy put up a countdown calendar to start checking off events. They’re done with shopping and have also decided to find dresses for the wedding when they’re in Maui. Amy has also arranged to have her surfboards shipped ahead so they won’t have to worry about checking them as luggage and potentially having them get lost en route.

Jamie, Christy and Amy also meet frequently to write up a tentative plan for their restaurant and schedule a meeting with the bank and the city to obtain a small loan and necessary permits.

They’re also busy looking for a location for the restaurant, though all they can really decide on is being in Santa Monica and preferably near to the beach.

Their plans are put on hold as the trip to Maui draws closer, Jamie, Amy and Christy going out for dinner before they start packing.

“So, the actual wedding won’t be for another week but, our father wants us to get to know his fiancé,” Amy spoke while they waited for their food to arrive. “I can’t protest that because we’ll be in Maui for a week.”

Jamie nodded, picking at a breadstick, “and you had said that there won’t be a lot of people, right?”

“Right,” Christy confirmed, “basically me, Amy and Ty for our father’s side. But in terms of an actual ceremony, it’s supposed to be intimate and small.”

“That should be nice,” Jamie commented, “I still can’t figure out what I want to do for my wedding.”

Christy took a sip from her iced water, “I had mine all planned out but, I don’t know.”

Amy scoffed when they turned their attention to her, “don’t look at me. I’d be happy to get married in a haunted house by a dead Elvis impersonator and on Halloween, of course.” She paused, “and that’s if I do. Marriage is an overrated and expensive concept that’s gotten entirely out of control.”

Jamie and Christy rolled their eyes a little but they also knew that Amy wasn’t likely to change her opinion so it would just be a waste of time and energy to take on that task.
