Without the obligations of jobs hanging above their heads, Alex and Amy decide that a little drinking wouldn’t hurt. And with a tip from the concierge, the pair stays in the same area as the hotel when they go out. They’re just starting on their third set of margaritas, this after shots of straight tequila and starting with a Corona each, but not without breaks in between so they don't get too wasted, when Amy’s phone rings; the redhead putting the item on speaker without checking the number.

“Hello?” They greet between them, the redhead perched precariously on Alex’s lap.

“Amy.”

“Son of a bitch,” Alex cursed. “See, I told you shouldn’t have answered.”

Amy snorted, “How was I supposed to know he’d get my phone number?” A pause, “how did you get this number?”

“Does the name Kelly ring any bells?”

Amy frowned at that, “I knew I should have gotten this number changed.” A long pause, the redhead taking a sip of the iced water on the table. “What do you want?”

“That should have been clear by now.”

“Would you like me to wire you some money so you can buy a clue?” Alex tapped the phone as if Hardy could see him. “She’s not into you.”

“This doesn’t concern you, Shelley.”

“My ass it doesn’t, this is my girlfriend you’re harassing. Go back to the woods and find some troll to be happy with.”

“Bye-bye!” Amy quips, ending the call and then blocks the number. “You wanna get out of here?”

Alex arched an eyebrow, “and do what exactly?”

Amy shrugged, “I don’t know… we could go for a walk?”

“In the dark?”

“Why not?” She slipped off, grabbing and pocketing her phone, somehow managing to find money for a tip. “Come on, Alex, we’re in Mexico…. Taking a break. We’re supposed to be having fun, right?”

He can’t exactly argue that, letting her take his hand as she weaves through the crowd and towards the exit. At some point her arm slips around his waist, the two heading towards the beach. Once they arrive, and after finding a bench to stash their shoes and socks underneath, Amy’s half running towards the water.

“Are you sure you were drinking what I was drinking?”

“It’s the saltwater… the smell. Being outside.”

“Where it’s cold.”

“Grow up and have some fun. It’s gorgeous out here.” Amy paused near to the shoreline, “and besides, the stars aren’t like this in Santa Monica.”

He would be hard pressed to argue that, the photographer in him cursing the fact that he didn’t have his camera. But then, that might ruin whatever moment they were sharing.
