On Monday, Amy started her new schedule at the Sports Club, working four ten hour shifts instead of working five eight hour shifts. It means getting up earlier since her work day starts at 7 but it’s a sacrifice she’s willing to make since she’ll get a three day weekend. Unfortunately, she also has to combat rush hour traffic but again, it’s a sacrifice she’s willing to make.
“Hey roomie,” Trish greeted when the redhead returned, “how was the first day of the new shift?”
“Exhausting,” Amy replied, hanging up her Sports Club jacket in the hallway closet, “but, that’s how I felt after the first day on the job.”
Trish nodded, the blonde woman dressed up, “well, I’m going out for dinner with Chris… but, Jamie dropped off a casserole for you and Ty.”
Amy waited until she had put her workbag back in her bedroom, “got it. Do you have any laundry that needs to be done?”
Trish arched an eyebrow, “you’re doing laundry on a Monday?”
Amy shrugged, “it has to be done some time, right? Plus we just spent all that time at the beach…”
“Um, you can check the hamper but if it’s not too much, don’t worry about it.” Trish beamed, “I can do my own laundry.”
“Just thought I would ask,” Amy said and started loading her laundry into a bag. “Have you and Irvine finally decided to try a grown up relationship?”
Trish smirked a little, “I always wanted one but he was more interested in being a stupid frat boy,” she shook her head, “but now that that phase is out of him, maybe he’ll be willing to settle down?”
Amy shrugged again, “only one way to find out I guess….” And then she smiled, “good luck. You deserve happiness, Trishers.”
Embracing her longtime friend in a hug, Trish replied, “and so do you.” Smiling again, she continued, “Now I should go before you make me cry.”
After Trish had left, Tyson returned not long afterwards and offered to bring the laundry to the laundry room in the Complex. Amy politely declined, getting the laundry set up in two washing machines before coming back and deciding that she had time for a much needed bubble bath.
