The Sunday Surf Club includes one extra member that week, Jamie, A.J and Alex helping teach Josh how to surf. They head back to Zuma beach in Malibu because there are opportunities for everyone to surf here and it’s a great spot for Josh to really learn. Eventually, Josh is left in the capable hands of Jamie while most of the others head to another spot on the beach.
“We should try Huntington next week,” Alex suggested as he stood on the beach with Amy and A.J. “What do you think?”
“You can if you want,” Amy replied and then shrugged, “next week is a break week anyway.”
Alex bumped hips with her, “so where are you heading?”
Amy arched an eyebrow, “and what makes you think I’m going to tell you?”
He smirked at her, “because I’d pester you until you told me or I could find out from shortie over here,” Alex ducked out of the way of A.J’s incoming fist, “or from Josh. Because I know you and your tendencies to spend Sundays with Jamie and your sister…” Trailing off, he grinned at her, a knowing glint in his eyes.
“So in other words I should just save myself the trouble and tell you now?” And when he nodded, Amy rolled her eyes. “Try again, buddy.”
“Come on Ames, please?”
“Don’t pout at me, it doesn’t suit you.”
Amy dashed off towards the water, surfboard at the ready.
“So, A.J…”
“Don’t look at me because I haven’t been told anything, either.”
“Damn.”
