Summary: All they have to do is survive one year, how hard could it be?
Notes: A/U, so what I say goes. Mostly everyone is in their mid-20's. Trish and Velvet are siblings, Eric Bischoff is their uncle (pity them). Mixture of real and ring names because I want to. Watch this space for any pertinent notes along the way. Parts will vary in length.
San Francisco, California
Sisters Jamie and Trish Sky exited the taxi cab and stood on the sidewalk, eying the rundown warehouse and adjacent buildings critically. They should have known something was up when their Uncle Eric told them they could have the property at a discount…
“Are you sure this is it?”
“Unfortunately,” Trish double checked the address in her iPad. “This piece of deteriorating property is now ours.”
Jamie bit down on her lower lip, “a warehouse and two storefronts… maybe we should have taken the house, instead?”
Trish snorted, “Please. The house is probably in worse condition than this scrap heap of bricks.”
“Our scrap heap,” Jamie corrected her cousin, “now the question is: what next?”
“Well, for starters, we get in touch with a contractor to make sure the property is useable and then I guess we go from there.” Trish pushed a few strands of hair behind her ears, “I’m sure this property was occupied at some point, maybe we could revive it?”
The younger blonde woman nodded, “do you think Uncle Eric will help us?”
Trish rolled her eyes, “highly unlikely. But, we did sign a contract so he might be legally bound to assist.”
Jamie jammed her hands into the pockets of her jeans, “only one way to find out… let’s go have lunch and figure this out.”
Trish agreed easily, the two recent transplants from New York not having a car yet, calling a cab so they could head back to the hotel they were currently staying at.
