So I'm concerned about my cat, Una. She's ten months old. Yesterday, she was in the bathroom with me while I was doing my hair, and all of a sudden she got really spooked out. She was in one corner and backed up really fast into the other side. I opened the door for her and she bolted out of there. The whole night, she was acting very skiddish ( Read more... )

You maybe right about the refection idea. Cats do not connect things together with their brains. A needle going to them is not what bothers them, it is the pain of it, but they never really put the two together like humans; Shot = pain.

SO seeing herself and for a quick moment she thinks it is another cat, yet she does not smell a new scent of a new animal, so she lurks and creeps around, wondering where this animal is that she saw through her eyes.

This I have seen before in a cats, but still take her to your vet to get a real opinion, one from a real doctor.

Sad to her of this, what you both are going through. LOVZ AND HUGZ !!!

try putting some paper over the trash can and see if it makes any difference. maybe let her play on it before you wrap it around the reflective surface so it smells like her...? actually, i think thats good advice for anything... leave stuff that smells like her in the places you want her to go.

my 3 all have weird reactions to mirrors, although leaving floor length mirrors around has helped them become sort of ignore them (although finn even still paws idly at his own reflection).

worst case scenario: if it continues, you might try comfort zone (ignore the reviewer who gave it 1 star because they only tried to use it to control peeing - not its intended purpose!) - i had good luck with these. they are bit pricey, but last a month, and are comforting to kittens.
