I've been worried about Brutus getting into trouble with Alaskan wildlife since we lived here. I let him out to go potty about ten minutes ago and unfortunately there was a moose out back. I hope you don't have any more run ins with the wildlife, your dog barking at 3 am is better than him NOT barking YKWIM? Glad no one was hurt (minus the possibility of the strawberries...)
Oh, and opossums carry rabies too, I can totally understand not wanting them to attack a beloved pet. Yikes.

My strawberries were spared, thankfully. One of them is turning red already I hope they taste good and even if they don't, they are nice to look at.
And I am grateful he alerted me to the intruder. It was a giood reminder that I need to be more careful when I let him out because there are also wolves and bears out at this time of year.
Brutus was so lucky we have a fence. When I saw the fence in daylight I noticed the moose left quite the dent where she first kicked. She would have hit him squarely in the chest but for the fence.
