Summary: Most corpses don't respond like this.

It was, perhaps one of the oddest responses the pie maker had heard upon reviving a deceased person.

“I swear Sam, I told you to let me die and be in some freaking peace for once!”

Ned, Emerson, and Chuck stared at the reanimated soul, not sure at all of how to respond. Who was Sam, and why had his plan to keep this person alive presumably failed? Or had Sam, in fact, been the murderer?

Answers would not come easily.

“Who in the hell are you?” The corpse said, sitting up, causing the thin white sheet to slide down his frame. He took in the curious sight of the three detectives. Although he had been dead for a few hours, the corpse had not lost its’ keen appreciation for the finer sex. “There’s no way in hell someone like you could be in hell.” He said, and smiled at Chuck. “I’m Dean. How are you doing?”

Chuck, whose eyes were distracted by how far down on Dean’s well developed body the white sheet had slipped, could only nod mutely in response.

“I’ve had better days.” Ned sighed, unhappy with the way Chuck was captivated by how little the sheet covered of Dean. “Really, this is not one of my best days.” He repeated himself, a bit more quietly, while trying to keep his jealousy to himself.

He didn’t succeed.

Concerning the curious corpse, the facts were these: Dean Winchester was born into a family that too often tangoed with the unnatural forces of the Supernatural. From an early age, Dean was trained and taught by his father to fight evil in a myriad of forms. To make an extremely complicated story somewhat short: the fight against evil had led to Dean’s demise, though certainly other factors such as an extreme amount of family devotion were to blame as well. Dean had made a deal to revive a dead Sam, who was in fact Dean’s younger brother, essentially trading Sam’s life for his own, with a lease period of a single year.

The lease had in fact, come up, and Dean had perished. His seemingly mysterious death had caught the attention of the gumshoes based at The Pie Hole, leading them to this very unusual interrogation.

Time was moving quickly; and Ned made a move to touch Dean once more. He was stopped by a yell.

“Please.” Sam Winchester, an unusually tall and scruffy haired young man said, as he ran into the morgue. “Please, whatever you do, don’t touch him again!” He pleaded. The pie maker was not an unknown quantity of the world of a hunter, and wise Sam had done his research.

While Ned debated what to do, Dean’s minute ran out; and he survived, living and untouched.

Outside the morgue, a young woman who had traveled thousands of miles seeking a cure for her curious affliction suddenly and inexplicably dropped dead.

“Maya!” Her brother Alejandro exclaimed.

No power on Earth would ever revive her again.
