[For someone who's just spent the last month in the Malnosso's not-so-tender care, Ceodore is in remarkably good shape. They drop him off at the terribly inconvenient far side of the eastern lake in New Feather clothes, but he's otherwise quite well. Not sick, not disoriented. In fact, he can't tell a single thing is missing or wrong at all. He ( Read more... )

[...Thank you, Malnosso, for waiting a few more days.]

Ceodore? They've returned you! Are you unharmed?

[He'd better be quick at eating it, because dad is in front of the door within five minutes.]

Hey!

[Stepping out of the way to let dad and the pizza both in the door.]

So what happened?

[Never let it be said that Ceodore's got a shred of patience.]

The-

[But then Cecil finally looks directly at his son, and his words die on his lips. He looks slightly... alarmed?]

What have they done to you?

Huh?

[Well that's a strange reaction. Selphie just hugged and snuggled. Nothing's wrong that he can tell at all.]

[There will be hugs coming, but first he puts his hand on Ceodore's shoulder and tries to get a better look at his hair.]

It's almost as if they removed all that came from Rosa from you.

Uh... what?

Are you feeling okay?

[You're being really strange, Dad.]

...I suppose it matters little, as long as you're safe.

[See, there it is. The unmanly hug.]

[AUGH! Not the hugs! Have a care for your poor son's ego. Squirming away from that NOW.]

Yeah, I'm fine. Seems like everyone else got the bad end of the deal this time.

...We truly did. I even thought I'd never...

["See you again", and doesn't that explain his lack of care for his poor son's ego?]

[That prompts Ceodore to stop attempting an escape immediately. In fact, he sobers up straight away. He's not quite sure what his father was going to finish with, but he understands that fear of not seeing family again. Even with the reassurances that all is not what he thought when he arrived, the princeling still nurses private fears that his family will be lost before he can get home.]

I'm sorry.

...It's alright. We came back, and you came back, and the next person to throw a mmon at us will meet a slow and painful death at our hands.

[He finally lets go, once he's completely certain Ceodore is truly there.]

I'd like to exact a little justice but uh... throwing a moon?

The moon crashed into the planet, completely destroying the village. A sweet little reminder of home, you could say.
