The book Trans-Sister Radio by Chris Bohjalian is an excellent book on transgender. It is fiction, but really explores the effects such a decision has on everyone involved. It's really good.

If you want, I can email my old professor whom I took my Women And Literature class... She might have some titles that I haven't heard of. Lemme know and I'll send an email her way.

Only one that comes to mind that I know to be transgender is Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, which is more fictional, but based off of true events in like the fifties? Leslie Feinberg does do speeches and stuff though - so it's at least one author to go off of.

[edit]: Or I could just Google something for you.

Stone Butch Blues is a good read.

Oh! I have a book for you, Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto. I will mail you my copy if you want. How can you resist a book by a woman named Banana?

I could talk to a friend of mine for you? She just finished a Psych of Sex course and they studied that. She should have some articles and books references.

Also? A good fictional novel is Luna by Leslie Anne Peters.
