Yeah, I agree with terremotia, I'm sure there's some sort of two year MFA type thing somewhere. I'm not much more helpful beyond that and offering a hug and a sympathetic ear, sadly.

As for the guy dream, I blame me, since we were discussing all those lovely boy issues and dream related oddities. So terribly sorry. ^_^ If it's any consolation, I had a disturbing one about my ex last night. I woke up a little cranky, needless to say.

Sorry I can't be of more help/use, but I just hope that everything works out for you.

Lillian, you are a bit too young to be already living with regret. It's never too late to follow your dreams and in your case, Miss-college-senior - it is definitely not too late. You have some time. Research art schools in the area (if you want to stay in NY) and find out what options they have for you. Just in my cursory google search I found the School for Visual arts. If this grad program (http://www.schoolofvisualarts.edu/grad/index.jsp?sid0=2&sid1=32) seems a little too out of reach because you are worried about your artist skills (BUT STILL TRY FOR THE MFA REGARDLESS - I wasn't sure whether my MCAT scores would get me into med school, but I still tried and now look!). Or, if you want to work for a bit before you try for the program, there are a few classes in the continuing education program you can try (http://www.schoolofvisualarts. ( ... )

and don't you remember how exciting it was to get all those college brochure mailings?? You get to have that a second time, but for art school! I loved thumbing through all the med school stuff when they came...

some schools that my profs have mentioned are: Parsons School of Design and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I've also heard of an Art Institute in Chicago...that might be it's name, but I can't remember it exactly. Over here on the West coast, quite a few of my profs got degrees from California College of the Arts (CCAC), as well as Berkeley and UCLA.

Then, in my obscure memory, I remember someone talking about Full Sail...

Don't know if all of these offer masters or have what you're looking for, but I support you head-on. You can do it, Lil. I know most of my recollection of your stuff was from way before, but if you're passionate about it, then definitely pursue it if poss...

As for money, if your portfolio is strong enough, you may be able to find some grants or fellowships. Go for it! I know you can do it!
