Morwyn, on Inuyasha's non-relationship with his dead father: Daddy issues, heh. "I was fathered by a demon and all I got was this phallic symbol and the girliest brother ever."

randomsome1, in response to a rant about the over-used fanfic plot device of biting/demon sex/blood sharing turning Kagome into a half-demon:

Having watched both the dub and the japanese of that episode before, (but being in Italy and there for unable to compare the two again) but I definately remember that SOMETHING about was different between the two, and I got rather huffy about it.

...care to refresh my memory? O:}

I was referring directly to the scene where Mustang corners Ed and Al in a dark alleyway and tells them that Al shouldn't apply. Ed's reaction and attempts to pacify Al come across a lot better in the dub, since his voice goes all quiet and intense and bitter and surprisingly mature. The Japanese original...the voicing didn't match the slow pan up Ed's serious face.

It's one of the few places where I genuinely prefer the dub to the sub.

I have no idea what part made you huffy, since my brain zeroed in on that one scene and all else was history.

Ah, then it wasn't that scene. No, there are moments (which I cant think of at the moment cause I'm in Italy and unable to get my hands on either) not just in FMA but also in another series I like called Scryed where the dub and original differ so much in tone and wording that...well, I wouldn't say I get huffy--bad word choice--but definately dissappointed in a sort of "oh, but it was such GOOD writing, why did they change it? *ponsai*".

...Wow, run-on sentence much?

However, FMA isn't that bad in that regard. Just little moments were I thought the dub/sub difference only made plot points confusing (and should the chance come I'd point them out).

Scryed on the other hand...there are episodes where I will switch back and forth between the dub and the sub, because in certain scenes I prefer one over the other.

And I find myself suddenly paranoid that, somewhere the past week, I've committed a massive social faux pas and/or seriously offended someone either via LJ or real life

Thank you for reminding me. Are you angry with me?

...Eh? Wha?

Why on earth would I be angry with you when a) I'm currently stressed about offending some unknown and b) I'm...not?

Whatever gave you that idea? *mildly flabbergasted*

(And yes, I love the word 'flabbergasted' because it's awesome.)

By the way, I have all of the OSTs, if you're interested. Plus the one for the movie. I'm trying to hold out on watching the show again until I get my hands on the movie, so I can watch them all straight through again. Oh, Roy x Ed...all the pretty things. Bwahaha.

And my dear, you walk with grace and beauty, so I'm sure there is nothing that has been done wrong on your part. See you tomorrow. ^_^

OSTs. Gimme.

And while I may behave around you, I seem to have social ineptitude in massive amounts. I am okay with pissing people off when it's within reasonable expectations to my anger/angst/whathaveyou, but when I'm trying to be friendly/helpful, and I offend someone, it rather drives me bonkers.
