So far, both companies have been really nice. I didn't have to try to track anyone down, they called me pretty much as soon as I walked in the door. The one from the other company used to work for ours, and he even said that he might call now and then to check and see how I'm doing if I didn't mind.
I always hate having to chase others for liability issues (especially since the only thing that makes them more "liable" than me is that they happen to own the property... ice is ice, no one can control that). But at the same time, there was no salt put down, and I nearly fell again trying to limp to my car to leave, so I don't feel TOO bad about it.
I have never broken a bone, despite being a big klutz at times. Just a sprain, plenty of head injuries, burns and plenty of self inflicted stab wounds.
Feel better soon - hopefully you'll be paid for the sick time.
When it gets to be winter, our condo's management company has a self-serve policy on ice - they leave a bucket of salt by every building entrance so you can salt anything that might need it if they miss it. (They do spread salt also, but leaving the bucket is nice.)
