I wouldn't call it a waste. Yes, it had some problems, and the ending was fucking awful, but it doesn't retroactively ruin the rest of the time I spent playing.

It retroactively made every other hour I put into the series meaningless.

I can sit and try to play ME1 and 2 over again, but there's a point where I just have to stop because my enjoyment of them has been shot dead in a ditch.
