They nerfed biotics at the expense of making tech abilities actually useful.

They could have made it so that they were both useful, though!

I did Insanity with Infiltrator. I don't think I could have managed it with anything else. The Widow was a life saver (for me anyways).

Also, the Locust SMG (from the Kasumi DLC) is pretty much an assault rifle that anyone can use. It's pretty awesome.
