so I banged Alistair in Dragon Age: Origins

when we finished, his approval increased

and he gained a "massive" boost to his constitution

is that supposed to be some sort of innuendo, because I'm not sure and I feel vaguely weirded out by this

Actually, I'm weirded out by this entire relationship, to be honest. Alistair acts like a goofy older brother ( Read more... )

I can't get over the pseudo-Enya in the background when you're trying to have sex with someone. Do you know if it plays when you're with Zevran? Because it doesn't seem like DRAMATIC MUSIC would really be appropriate with him. "Pirate Zevran reporting for duty! Prepare to be boarded!"

What was the glitch?

Yeah, in both of my games I've accidentally cheated on my "love interest."

Leliana: "I love you."
Me: "Shit. Morragan is going to be REALLY pissed with me."

That happened to me, too.

Alistair and my character are in a relationship where we half expect to be struck by lightning any day now and everyone in camp knows it, and then Leliana's like "I LOVE YOU AND YOU HAVE NICE HAIR" and I'm like "UHHHHHHH I LIKE YOU BUT NOT LIKE THAT" and then she got upset and asked me if I'm leading her on. I'M NOT LEADING YOU ON, I JUST LIKE LEARNING ABOUT MY COMPANIONS AND NOT BEING A TOTAL BITCH TO EVERYONE >:

I'm totally romancing her next playthrough, even if refusing Alistair is not entirely unlike kicking a puppy.

...You can choose to bang people in the game? huh.

It seems to be practical if stats go up.

Jorge said something about having to pause the game during battles to give commands... maybe that helps?

It's definitely a game that requires a lot of efficient micromanagement to not get completely slaughtered by even random encounters ( ... )

Yeah, my main character is a city elf rogue whose sole purpose in life is to backstab the hell out of whatever Alistair is aggroing. UNFORTUNATELY, I usually lead, and not Alistair, so I end up with all the hate. Whoops. :/ I've taken to stealthing everywhere, though, which gives me some time to see who/what/where all the enemies are and plan accordingly.

SPEAKING OF ALISTAIR: I've pretty much been focusing on strength with him so far, partly because most of the best armor requires a pretty high strength stat to wear, but after I get that done, which stat should he focus on? Dexterity or constitution?

I've managed to get the duelist specialization just through playing a card game with her. I totally cheated.

Are you playing your four characters at the same time?

I would recommend going for constitution after you get his strength to 42. Constitution is by far the most important attribute for Tanks. Of course, Alistair gets CON bonuses when his approval increases, so if you're sleeping with him, you shouldn't have to worry about that as much.

Amusingly, Zevran's Dexterity increases after you sleep with him.

The stat bonuses are gained just through approval increases, but since characters generally approve of you sleeping with them, I guess it's inevitable.

Constitution is important, yeah, but put enough points into dexterity and characters will straight-up dodge attacks, kinda like in blink tanking.
