Also not sure why Merlin and Gaius pointed out abou t the enchanted necklace they found around Uther 's neck. Why don't they tlak to Arthur about how they suspect Morgana? Or that they know of a traitor in their midst?... I dunno. XD
yeah - that was definitely my biggest issue with the episode. Arthur was in a state that I believe he would have been willing to listen. especially if it had come from Gaius immediately after Uther being declared dead.
but I also hate that Romeo went and killed himself before Juliet woke up. That was stupid.
sometimes stories just go the way they go to deliver the tragedy when the happy ending it right there.
believe me when I tell you, I'm the last person to ever judge typos. (and I agree on the new lj tiny font. annoying!)
I suppose they needed some way of keeping Merlin's magic a secret for just a bit longer. *sigh* yeah - they've still got all of S5 to work through. If this was 4.13 or at any point in s5, then i would believe IT WAS TIME - but I would have been shocked it it was 4.03 for Arthur to accept magic.
I suppose one could look at it as the beginning of a reveal, or something. I'm not sure if they'd do one for the end of the series, but it would be nice, at least to have one other person know besides Gaius and Lancelot (maybe Gwen? that would be nice).
Yes, that's just something Merlin didn't think would help, I guess. :\ Still, you'd think he'd try telling Arthur about it; unless it would put Merlin more into a corner. *shrug*
Oh yes! I loved that too. And poor Merlin was so broken and worried for Arthur. It was beautiful. And then they went off to have breakfast and lazy sex in the bed. *nodnod*
That is so true, you'd think he would sense the necklace. Maybe transformed as an old man and doing some major healing magic and his anxiety, etc. was so "strong" that he wasn't paying attention? Either that or because the necklace was inside Uther's shirt? (Yes, I've been contemplating about it a lot since watching. XD)
Yes! They had breakfast, and made googly eyes at each other across the table, and then Arthur reached across to take Merlin by the ears and pull him into a deep, passionate kiss. .... well, in my mind anyway. lol.
My attitude was that Merlin didn't notice the necklace because he was too focused on getting the spell right and too nervous about tripping up in front of Arthur.
As for Merlin waiting until the last to say "Long Live the King", I think he was really thinking about whether he could pledge his life to a king that would still be hunting his kind and it was only when he realized that he loved Arthur too much to give up on him that he shouted it out.
Also not sure why Merlin and Gaius hadn't pointed out about the enchanted necklace they found around Uther's neck. Why don't they talk to Arthur about how they suspect Morgana? Or that they know of a traitor in their midst?... I dunno. XD
That was my issue too. It was so bizzare not to mention it.

Yes, Gaius found it and understood what it meant, so why not tell Arthur? Unless he believes that it would only make things worse....?

I am excited for the next episode though. Dragon egg! :D

Really adored the scene where Arthur was opening the throne room the day after, bringing the light to Merlin's darkness. Visually stunning.
