I haven't changed to the new friends page yet either. Like you, I'm afraid to, so I'm clinging with everyting I am to the old one. I keep getting annoyed because they keep changing my "post" page to the new style, and I hate it. So far, I've been able to change it back, but ugh. Do not want.
Damnit, I spoke too soon. My "post" page is now set to the new way, and there's no way I can see to turn it off.
The same thing happened to me. Now, when I want to update my journal, I'm stuck with the new interface with no option to switch back. I don't think it works any better than the old update page, but I think LJ is trying to keep the site style looking "current" i.e. more like tumblr.
Aww, Luna! You're the best. Thanks so much for the kind words and spreading the word about my fic.
haha. great news about the gym. i'm curious when you say people ask about the dog, is it like 'omg what's an animal doing here!?' or 'oh a guide dog. cool." sort of thing.
Good luck for your exam. I'm sure you'll do great.
Hm most of the time people ask "What kind of dog is it" or "what are you training her for." Then I have to explain that she's not in training and that she actually belongs to me. People are always surprised by that because they seem to think that blind = old.
Thanks! I think the test for class went well, but yesterday I had a practice LSAT (law school entrance exam) which is a whole post in itself...
Ok, so I seem to have the new friend page. I have no idea how I got it. I must have clicked it??? I don't remember doing so, but anyway, the most important bit is that there is a clickable link that let's you switch back to the old friend page if you want. It's at the very top. And it works.
The only difference I see--and granted I'm not here much anymore--is that it has a quick scroll feature like tumblr and that it has filter capabilities and a way to change your settings and journal style. I have not played with it, but it seems legit.
Glad to hear that it's not too different in terms of functionality. I didn't want to change the look of my page because it's easiest for me to see things the way I have them, but now that I know it's not permanent (yet) I may play around with it more.
